Sitting here on my lunch break. There is a little puppy back at work that's probably not going to make it. Poor little guy.

Running a low grade fever and feel like crap. Have to cancel my date tonight...again. Have another seven hours to go and all I feel like doing is curling up in bed with my dog and sleeping it all off.

I wonder if I picked this up in the hospital last Saturday.

Gotta build up immunity, man. When I taught preschool my husband was sick all the damn time.

Have to admit, i am getting sick more often since starting clinicals. And that's even with several hundred dollars worth of vaccinations.

Since my wife has worked in the medical field I've gotten MRSA, C-Diff, H1N1, and who knows how many minor colds/flus.

    Somehow she rarely gets sick.

Wash your hands more often. She's probably doing it religiously.

I can't speak to how she is at work, but I can say I probably wash mine twice as often as her at home.

Some of my friends have suggested that the amount I stay in hotel rooms all over the place doesn't help.

But agreed, that is sound advice regardless. :)

School teachers bring home a lot of shit too. It's probably a good thing to keep my immune system primed, now that I live in a bubble.

Neither of us got sick this year. I had a cold for maybe 2 days tops, and it wasn't very bad. My theory is that the preschool environment is germier in general and teaching there helped boost my immunity considerably.

I think my SO is more bothered by the miasma of hot BO in the warmer months in teenager-laden classrooms without air conditioning.

I think she may even give them the deodorant talk like that one time I read Felicia Day recommended deodorant to her fans on her social media channels in advance of a convention.

Yesterday I was on a slow bus that was standing room-only. No less than one third of the occupants were homeless or recent Indian immigrants. They've got every right to be there, but it sure does make for a pungent ride.

  15. The science nerds that I used to work with smelled kind of gross. The pharmacy people smell fine. I wonder what other colleges smell like.

The English department will most likely smell like patchouli.

  17. My fellow journalism students smelled like coffee and cigarettes.

  18. Charter did some fancy magic work that took out my internet last night. Got it back this morning, but my IP address changed, so I had to go and update my DNS records on Namecheap so I could get back into my home network. Grumble grumble.

Minor gripe, but a gripe nonetheless.

That's how the English students at Oregon State smelled when I was there. The students who smelled like patchouli were typically in natural resources, environmental science, or part of a small subsection of the forestry program.

I have to go to a laundromat which is an expensive experience up here but worse, I have to bring my dog because it is still too hot/humid here in the cottage to leave him. He and I are gonna hang out in front of the laundromat all classy-like.
