Food The Bacon Thread

Some people are totally forbidden to eat bacon.

 

It's more of a guideline... ;-)

 

Bacon wrapped Chix livers are teh Yummehz! My mom used to put a water chestnut in each one to give it some crunch too.
Definitely gonna do the milk soak next time I decide to go for them. (And then I'll sautee them in bacon fat.)

I love everything wrapped in bacon. A few weeks ago I tried the bacon dark chocolate bar... fantastic

Crisp fried bacon, vine ripe SALTED tomatoes.
On toast.
With gobs of mayo..
Seriously about 6 of 'em, does me just right.
Wash down with a few cans of ice cold Diet Pepsi's...Hell yeah!!

Note: They taste much better if cut on a bias, and somebody else prepares them for you.

 

Love love love bacon; don't like pork. Weird.

 

Well you can buy bacon made from turkey, lamb, beef, chicken, veggies.. doesn't have to be pork. I use turkey bacon myself.

 

Oh no, it's pig bacon that I love. Plus I live on a tiny little island in the middle of the Mediterranean so options are limited - I think turkey bacon has possibly made it over here but I wouldn't have a clue where to buy it. We only got decent chocolate 10 years ago - things are kinda slow around these parts

 

I think I could give up a lot to live on a Mediterranean island.

I thought I would share a recent dinner: pork tenderloin (2 of them) stuffed with crumbled Italian sausage, chopped cherries & onion the whole thing wrapped with bacon and roasted. Pictures:

Coming from a Polish family has its advantages. Learned how to make bacon/cheese pierogi from my grandma. The filling has a pound of bacon, and all the rendered bacon fat goes into the dough... Most amazing things in the world.
