This was on the local BBS without explanation. No, that isn't Molly and yes, I'm guessing that there is some soiled Spandex.

My bike is ready for the summer. My husband's is not, sadly. It is a chore I need to remember to get done so we can go riding together. There are lots of paths near here worth exploring.

One more month until I can get that bone density scan the docs want and my broken rib will be healed. All I need to do in the meantime is find a good ~26x1.9" road tire and finish converting my mtb for urban use.

Hubs' bike finally got fixed. We've done some riding lately. I rode by myself downtown (6-mile roundtrip) the other day to meet him for dinner. It's paths the whole way, which is really nice. Honestly, it's been too hot here lately for me to ride my bike much, so I'm trying to take advantage on the days when it's under 90, as it finally was this last week.

Today is the Providence Bridge Pedal in Portland, which is something I want to do next year. My husband said, "But I thought you were scared of bridges." Scared shitless! But I'm not going to let something as stupid as fear stop me from riding a goddamn bike over the Fremont Bridge.

I will probably be a little less cool about riding over the Marquam.

Guess which bridge survives in an earthquake? GUESS.

I share your acrophobia, I can't even look off a 3rd story balcony.
A few years ago driving from VA to NY I decided to see what the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel was like...I was driving a van, let me tell you sitting at a height that was higher than the guard rain was quite an experience....but once you start, there is no turning back.....I won't do that again.....

I'm not scared of bridges because I'm scared of heights. I'm actually not scared of heights at all. I'm scared of them for fear they will collapse with me on them. It's wholly irrational, hence why I try to face it head on. I walked across the Golden Gate and that was one of the best experiences of my life.

How about standing out on a balcony......60 stories up?....collapse.....as an architect/engineer...you'd think I'd trust these things....nah, seen too many being built.
I trust the engineering, not the construction.
And, yes I do have a problem with the height....

Had a great ride in the nature reserve trails over the weekend. It was during a serious thunderstorm. Fun.

In other news, I need air in my tires and a jungle to ride though. These Florida drivers are terrifying.
