James Carville Surprises Ari Melber With Trump-Biden Debate Prediction — HuffPost

IDK why it is a surprise???
He’s right. Odds are Chump won’t show.
    He’s a coward.
And knows damn well he doesn’t present well when it’s not just him.

Biden would wipe the floor with him.
Especially, if the mics are cut off when Biden is speaking.
Joe would just have to do one of his, “Come on, man!!” Or a quick quip.

Chump is going to try to survive by $$$ invested in him. Media addicted to his name and blurbs.

…And public anger and frustration at the current living dynamic…inflation, biz abuses, wages and the burdens of being responsible for ALL without a break. (All vendors and govt do now is take fees and say sorry, little support)

Joe’s a scapegoat, he doesn’t have the power they expect. Being prez ain’t magic.
But on TV and live, he’d beat Chump up, verbally.

No, I don't want this to be a poll...I want this to be a slam dunk.
Overwhelming numbers...Chump should drown in sorrows.

    Why???
Because we shouldn't be here in the first place.
    Even "close" is unacceptable.
WTF are the people even thinking considering this guy???

This is a surreal and absurd scenario.

I'm not religious, but I'm praying that we will come to our sanity at the end.

Polls, someone go choke on them. (to them, it's about the horserace...for number addicts, so they can make money by the tension and headlines)
Damage caused is not a concern to them.

I'll throw out a two part prediction for the debate on Thursday.

    2. NPD Trump will walk off the stage, like the petulant child he is, the first time his mic is muted. This' based on the thought the mics will remain hot until one of the candidates (golly gee, which one?) causes a muting.

    1. NPD Trump comes up with an excuse not to show up for the debate.

I will never forgive Nader for his presidential run. That asshole tilted the election to Bush, and he knew what he was doing.

    ASSHOLE.

    The debate so far...

Trump keeps lying, with his usual bombastic bluster. I think the muted mic and no audience is actually benefitting him, he sounds much calmer than normal.

Biden is telling the truth, for the most part, but he really sounds old, & not that sharp. Esp when he tries to speak quickly.

Trump is the guy in the office who tells interesting but largely false stories around the water cooler.

Biden is the guy in the office who stays at his desk steadily doing the work that needs to be done.

^ ^ The above is from the 4th Estate Media thread.

I'm going with the overall thoughts I'm reading, and feeling.

Trump: Lied. Attacked. Offered little or nothing in the way policy or plans. The usual, although more subdued, NPD Trump.

Biden: Sounded old. Stumbled over his words frequently, esp when he tried to speak quickly. Did mention his accomplishments, but didn't adequately blame (fairly) the Trump administration for his slow start. Let Trump off easy on Covid-19. It sounded as though Biden had his brain stuffed with info, but he wasn't sure how to use it.

How the debate affected undecided/swing voters is hard to say. It seemed to reinforce what we knew about both candidates, Trump is a BS talker, Biden is a worker. Unfortunately Biden didn't ease any concerns about his age, he increased them.

The problem is the news is gunning the controversy.
NOT that Chump lies and is a criminal. But that Biden is old.
AND they are all exclaiming panic in the Dems. Nothing on the GOP.

Is this because they're bored? Because they have to make it a horserace??

BOTH the Dems and the GOP could have picked others...but this IS what the people voted for in the primaries. AND all the party opposition backed down.
So why panic at all?? (but that's Dems for ya, they throw their own under the bus)

It's like Chump totally lies but they ignore it.
Biden sniffles or stutters, they scream it from the rooftops.

So there we have it, old is horrible. Lies & crime, meh.

I'm not sure the media is having the
    mostly one sided feeding frenzy
    that you think they're having.

Or when I read the various
headlines on the net I simply
dismissed them as more media BS.

One factor could be people were
    wrongly hoping for a miraculous
    peformance by Biden, while Trump
    was, as expected, Trump.

Actually, the reaction has been very typical, especially in this campaign.
There IS a double-standard. Most are just doing business as usual.

Like, they are holding Chump to being a entertainer celebrity.
And holding Biden to being a long-time politician.
We give celebs relief to be outlandish and expect politicians to be well polished.
That and the US has a serious case of ageism.

My problem is we're judging a book by its cover.
Focusing on their presentation...but not their performance.
And we do this often in US politics...its about the glam, not the substance or history.

    We are stabbing ourselves.
Media is giving us the knife. (nice and shiny, to sell in the display)

On a positive note...at least IMHO
'No one knows anything': Internet befuddled by post-debate poll showing Biden bump

    1. Many didn't watch. The debate has the lowest ratings. So that's a moot point.
    2. People aren't the media. They do NOT want the controversy, the headline. They want security, they want reasonable costs. Common sense.

Chump is NOT common sense. Joe is eld, but he speaks plainly and always in support of the people. (IF he's not blocked by Congress or the courts)

Who knows, we might save ourselves.

Actually, if you look around...Biden is now everywhere and looking quite vigorous. (stirring the pot of the public and calming the skittish Democratic VIPs)
And Chump has gone quiet...not much about him.

    Strange time.
And to add to the mix soon, Supreme Court makes a ruling on Chump immunity on Monday.

    Definitely strange times.

At least one of Biden’s campaign speeches was pretty strong.

Let's hope voters choose effort & substance over bluster & bullshit.

Most people that were anti-Chump before are saying...
The hand-wringers need to chill.

We've still got months to go. Nobody is going anywhere. (and that's good and bad)
    Just gird your loins... :confused::eek::oops:

Kamala Harris Is Having a Surprise Resurgence as Biden’s Campaign Unravels

    Hmmm...
I'm still of the mind that Biden is the best bet.
AND that the GOP dominated states would make any switch on the ballot difficult if not impossible.

She's decent, but I don't know if misogynistic racist America would let her win. (Look what they did to Hillary)
She's great to immediately take over if she was forced to as VP...and after some time as prez, have the rep as incumbent to win.
But to come in now??? IDK (hell, even some women are against women in leadership...the US is archaic and ass backwards on this matter)

Blunt: The US [absolutely] isn't ready to elect a [black] female POTUS.
