And that's why I'm all for greater limitations on presidential pardons.

Why it was not done after Ford pardoned Nixon I'll never understand. Actually I do understand: Politicians with skeletons in their closet are extremely reluctant to endorse major political reform.

Will Trump pardon himself for anything in the future? Or can you do that?

No, he can't. But he'll probably try.

    On that thought...
The Republicans aren't going to bring any charges against Trump. Barr certainly won't.

Once Trump is out, with any chance of shenanigans out of the way, we could see a slew of charges. Trump has shown serious disregard for the rules (he declared himself above the law as POTUS), and hasn't been particularly careful about covering his tracks.

I have no doubt examinations of his administration would uncover flagrant violations. Some have come to light. Biden will have tough decisions to make. Risk turmoil and backlash going after Trump, or just let it go. If the new US Attorney General can nail Trump clearly and relatively cleanly, I hope they go after him. But that has to be balanced against the political costs.

They will let the states do the deed, like NY and CA
Or cities he dissed, like Chicago or San Francisco

There’s too many GOP supporters, allies and ones that will block & hinder just for party loyalty

The Feds will just be a resource and do things to make his life miserable

He’s pissed off all the govt bureaucrats
So they will ding him and hinder here and there
    With encouragement from the administration

He and his business will have a ton of anchors
And no benefit of the doubt will be given

That’s what happens when you burn bridges
But he doesn’t think long term consequences

He forgets that he has hotels and clubs in each
They’ll slowly be fined to death and shut down

NOT a good sign for Mr. T’s conspiracy
Especially when your AG who’s done some outrageous stuff for you says...”We don’t see nothing”

Disputing Trump, Barr says no widespread election fraud

These days, I’m just curious to see how T reacts
After finding out ANOTHER scam has failed.

He’s going to be even more crazy after he’s out
And see he’s not given any benefit of the doubt anymore.

Maybe he just doesn’t care anymore
Since he’s assured that T won’t be prez in a few

Maybe Barr knows any charges brought against him will happen under Biden, i.e. no pardon from Trump.

Hopefully this will not happen. I don't think even Trump is that stupid.

A bigger concern--IMO--is Trump supporters taking action to physically block Biden from the inauguration and/or entering the White House grounds. Some Trump supporters are true believers who would seriously think they are doing the right thing, and they could easily be manipulated.

Trump has history of sometimes encouraging, and sometimes not directly encouraging, but certainly not discouraging, his supporters from behaving illegally. The slightest sign of encouragement from him could lead to big problems.

I'm sure the Secret Service, Homeland Security, the FBI, etc. take the potential threat seriously.

The Trump campaign has filed for an entire new election in Georgia to be ordered. This has almost no chance of happening, but it a great (and unfortunate) example of stubbornness gone totally wrong.

This is well past the point of being ridiculous.

How many synonyms are there for
    delusional, stubborn, and narcissistic?
    Devisive? Destructive?

I'm watching the Sunday morning news programs, and of course one of the main topics is the election.

The number of republicans supporting "exploring all available avenues because otherwise there will forever be a shadow over the election" is making me sick and extremely angry. The shadow was generated by Trump well before the election and is being perpetuated by the people who won't step up to say "Enough already. We lost."
