Just make him a hot dog. Easy to cook and no need for plates so clean up is magically easy.

  3. I got some fancy ground beef and made him a burger. He was happy with it.

I've used a crockpot before, but not on meat. I shall try this.

Same thing with any cheap, kinda tough, cut of meat like steak - put meat in with spice and look forward to meat that will almost melt in your mouth. Some vegetables thrown in on top just enhance the entire experience.

(I used pressure cookers when I was young to get the same effect on meat/vegs in about 30 minutes - wa la - dinner served after work to growling hungry family :) But I don't hear many people even say they own a pressure cooker anymore. They are dangerous to use if someone doesn't know how to operate them safely. People today don't can their own food as much, like we did when I was young, either. I had a kind mother-in-law who shared a few of her 'secrets' with me for delicious meals on a shoestring budget -- pressure cooker was one of hers for turning tough meat soft.)

We still use our pressure cooker all the time. We have one of the really old ones that is more or less "safe", but there's a whole new generation of them. They seem really awesome.

It might seem like a cop out, but at the groceries (I have seen them at Target) you can get meal rolls that have been rolled with spinach, etc. I was trying to find quick things for C to eat when I wasn't about to do everything from scratch.

They were beef pinwheels I think - We put in the oven on tinfoil, and he said they were delicious. Harder to mess up meat when you have something else providing some moisture to it.

  7. We have mini quiches from Costco that are pretty good. I bet they have some other things.

DaddySquirrel is the main food preparer in our house. I need the quick and easy meals when he's not around.
