Sadly, my favorite pet chickens were taken by critters a few years ago. This is Butch and Marlon hanging out by my front door waiting for treats. Butch (the hen) thought she was a roo - she crowed!

My friend made her pup Chloe a monster hoodie after seeing an expensive one at the store. Obsessed with her skill and the cuteness. I love dogsitting this pooch.

It's been far too long since I contributed to this thread.

For those of you playing along at home, Luna proved to be a bit too much of a handful for her owner, so she was transferred to a shelter specifically designed for German Shephards and was immediately adopted by someone who can give her the attention that she needs.

In lieu of this, the aforementioned owner is now in posession of two miniature Dachshunds.

This is Finn.


Finn is 9-ish weeks old and is a suuuper chill dog.

Burrito is an interesting beast; he tends to think he's a dog. He even plays fetch!


And this is Jake.



Jake is somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks old according to our best guesses, but he'll be going into the vet tomorrow to get checked out so we can know for sure.

Jake is seriously underweight. He apparently was fed a steady diet of nothing but dog treats by his previous owner, and was only fed them a couple of times a week.
We've got him eating non-solid dog food now to try to get him back up to a healthy weight. It's so sad feeding him, though, because he'll wolf down the food we give him and then look at us expectantly (with those sad puppy dog eyes), but we can't give him too much too soon otherwise his digestive system might go into shock. We have to wean him back into eating, and it breaks my heart every time.

Jake is super hyperactive and always love exploring and running around.



Jake and Finn, just like their namesakes, are the best of friends and love to play. Although I've had to down each of them for trying to assert dominance over each other (which was kind of awkward to see, but hey, it's a part of the animal kingdom)





These dogs, like Luna, are in need of socialization, not only with humans but also with each other (they'll continue to try to dominate each other if left alone in the same area so they have to be kept separate for now), so I'm spending about an hour a day 3-4 times a week with them, socializing and trying to teach them basic commands.
Jake is super perceptive and sometimes knows exactly what I'm gonna say before I say it (other times I have to physically move him into the position that I want him to be in [sit, lie, etc], but he tends to pick up quickly). Finn knows the commands, but isn't used to my presence yet so he doesn't know that I'm someone to be obeyed. We'll get there.

I've concluded my cat missed me a LOT while I was gone this past weekend, which is adorable in its own right.

I also discovered tonight that he likes to be front-squatted. He's not generally keen on being held or carried, yet he lay calmly in my arms, purring like a baby the whole time.
