Some people just can't be redeemed, and that often includes family members. She sounds small and insecure. It's such a shame.

I guess you just have to live with being the brainy, ambitious, and classy daughter.

    ;)

"The people who can hurt you the most are the ones closest to you."

I confess, I paraphrased (perhaps butchered), but the message stands.

    Oh, I know all this.
She produced the grandchild, though I was the first to graduate from college,
the only with a master's, soon to be the only doctorate in the ENTIRE family...
all 300+ family members down to the second cousins.
I'm also the one that got married at the court house and have been on my own (family support-wise) since I was 24.
My marriage is happier than hers and I don't care to compare ourselves in most areas.
I'm a lot more kick-ass as a human being, though.
    Bazinga, baby.

@noodle all you need to know is you know your shit.
no matter what misinformation is said or mis-perception someone else may have, is irrelevant.

when you make the magic happen and you know it...that's what counts
    'nuff said.

    ---------------

On a personal note, went out with a very pretty woman last night, great for me physically.
I'll confess, she didn't do it for me...

While talented, interesting (actually fascinating) background and very intelligent.
She laughed at the stories and jokes, good meal, good music, aware on a deeper level too, etc...there was no back & forth I need.
Shy & demure or quiet isn't my thing. (as you could guess...) And there's nothing wrong with that at all.

But I tried that...it drove me crazy in the long-run.
I need vivacious and full of life. (including the burdens & entertainments that come with that)

I doubt with we'll go out again...unless she opens up quite a bit and starts speaking a bit more. (and asks "me" out next time)

I wish I could kept going with a lady I went with back in my earlier years of college.
Laughed hard, full of spirit, a sparkle always in her blue & brown eyes (yep, one each) She was wonderful.
But she was a bit older...I was just getting going and wasn't there yet. She was ready to do something more serious with stability.

My Ex was like that when I met her...that's why I fell for her so fast.
It's just that there were other things that I didn't watch for that killed us. (irresponsibility, anger, etc....)

While I like the online for it's volume, variety and some upfront info...that type of personality trait doesn't translate until you're live.
    Oh well...back to the game.

I don't love butter, but I eat it. Grass-fed only, but it's approved. Butter tastes weird, but I'm glad people like it, or the world would be overrun with butter.

I should've also mentioned my mild to moderate obsession with carbs, but I didn't. ;)

I really dislike attending wedding here. I used to call it controlled chaos now it's a lot more chaos and very little control.

I seriously dislike attending graduation ceremonies. I'm happy for and proud of the graduate, but the GCs tend to drag on forever. We attended a ceremony where a friend received her masters degree. Two hours and forty-five minutes passedbefore she walked the stage.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

We have wonderful, seasoned citizens as neighbors at our little summer getaway.
Their granddaughters, in their early 20's by my estimate, were over today.
They had on those skin tight yoga pants and little tank tops.
That is until they went out on the dock with their itty bitty teeny bikinis.
    fuck.
Sorry for the stolen glances over your way..........

I think I've mentioned it before and the feeling passed, but I'm once again developing a nagging fear that I might be boring.

Well, it didn't help matters much that my BFF who looks like a Penthouse Pet once dressed herself up in a business outfit...

    - Her long hair done up in a bun, just so...but a touch unkempt
    - Faux glasses, with a light frame
    - Nails medium length, not too long
    - Silk white blouse just a bit clingy
    - Slightly tight skirt just above the knee, light grey
    - Light tan, no pantyhose
    - Light jacket that didn't quite fit over her front
    - Black pumps, tall but not too tall, just nice thin heels (not FMPs)

    I nearly died.
And she couldn't believe the response from me...it was all I could do to control myself. (her being married at that time)
But if I could...I would have ripped that shit up...and then some.

She remembers that scene to this day. (too bad she lives in San Diego)
Hmm...she's a professional customer service rep now...maybe I could get her to send pics.
She'd do that...mmm (she wouldn't mind me sharing them either...) :D

I posted that after getting a handshake at the end of a date. Not a noncommittal hug, not nothing, a handshake.
