Why mess with something that was working fine as it was. Why not take him the Amsterdam, window shop with him, and talk about it after over a nice glass of cold beer - and one of those cornets of chips with mayo on - all very civilised. Does it matter if the random shag is before or after the wedding? Doesnt it make a difference after you have made vows, or do you alter them to fit? Do you get one too - maybe to save for later?

 

I don't know, everybody here sounds like they couldn't play hide the sausage with another person and be able to go back to their significant other.

Has gotta be total bullshit because I'm guessing at least a quarter of the married people on TFP have engaged in some type of covert slap 'n tickle.

Or, maybe, are you concerned that the two of you seem to be on a path to something you aren't comfortable with? (Marriage).

Either way, I'm not convinced by your motivations. This is unlikely to end well.

well thank you everyone for your replies. I did decide to talk to him about it again.
He told me that the only reason he's thinking about right now is because we're young and he wishes he could say he slept with two girls, not one. It hurt me a little when he said that but then he told me that he stopped thinking about it because he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he hurt me or lost me.
We broke up once before. I was dealing with a lot of stress; friends, family, and he sort of got into some drugs. So we broke up, but before we got back together and made it official, he told me was completely lost without me and he regrets doing the things he did to hurt me and make things worse.

I know it sounds cheesie, but I know when hes being real with me. He said he probably wouldn't have even gone through with it. because if it got to the point where they were about to have sex, he'd immediately think of me and feel guilty. So i told him, that if we were still together in like another year or two and he started thinking of those thoughts again; we could go on a break for a couple of months and he can get this whole thing out of his system. his only concern is that things will be weird when we DO get back together. I told him that things are ALWAYS going to feel weird after that, but we have to push past it. So we'll see where this path will lead us.
