by local, I meant local to northwest Indiana. She's 21 and a college student. It's painful to read about their injuries, but it helps personalize them so much for the reader.

Two updates: 1, Andrea is currently off meds to control her ICP and she is showing brain activity, but not enough yet to allow her to wake up. That's not a bad thing, really, as the activity is increasing.

Sadly, another of the girls who was injured is 2 doors down from Andrea is in worse condition. Her family is faced with the decision to continue life support or not. Recent events in my life have mirrored Andrea's with my fiance, and I cannot imagine being faced wit that decision right now. I hope she shows 'some' sign of life before they have to absolutely decide

Just reading about this. Very tragic. Tragic and sad.

Didn't something like this just happen at a Cheap Trick concert and another show in Europe?

Really been a bad year for live outdoor shows. I can't remember anything like this since The Who tragedy in '79. It's so sad for all the families and friends involved. To think you're going to go see concert and end up either dead or have someone you love killed just seems so surreal. But I guess you just never know when or where your personal clock expires. One of my good friend is a search and recuse training instructor of all RCMP up north. He and his wife were here for a month hit past winter. He told me last summer a guy he worked with was diagnosed with brain cancer and told he had 10% chance of surviving it. He had the cancer removed and the surgeon found the cancer was fully encapsulated. He was told his situation was entirely different then they first thought. They said he'd likely have no lasting effects from the cancer or the operation. He walked out the hospital and was hit and killed by a drunk driver before he ever got to his car.

Sometimes you just gotta say "WTF!?!"
