Although I have enjoyed the aesthetic of the original series, I watched ST:TNG mostly, but I'm sure I've missed entire swaths of episodes. I got into DS9 when it first came out, but I didn't stick to it. After that, I caught a few episodes here and there, specially because of Worf.

I'm not sure if I've seen any other shows.

Who is your favorite character in Star Trek?

Tough call. I'll list a few: Worf, Data, Picard, Spock

Do you have a favorite episode?

    No.

Is there an episode that shaped or otherwise changed your life, or your perspective on reality?

No, but I'm sure the cumulative effect of watching TNG has formed much of my understanding of philosophy and ethics.

I was more of a Star Wars kid, but I admired the depth and breadth of TNG. I just was never really a television watcher. As that show was airing, I was more of a reader of fantasy novels. Science fiction was always secondary to fantasy in my mind. It was cool and shit, but I liked impossible worlds, magic, and majestic creature more.

I've been more open to sci-fi lately. I might even read a novel or two in that genre. I've really enjoyed things like the new Battlestar Galactica. I also enjoyed the new Star Trek film and am looking forward to the next one.

But you know what? I would have rather new Conan film be awesome, and I'm looking forward to The Hobbit to tide me over until the next season of Game of Thrones. In the meantime, I'm currently going through the campy Legend of the Seeker. My heart belongs to fantasy.

However, arkana is currently going through the entire TNG and I'm kinda jealous.

On an interesting side note, I am packing up my VHS movies for a move before a move and I just put the recording of the 25th anniversary special in the box. Original airdate November 16, 1991 according to the label in my handwriting.

Who is your favorite character in Star Trek?
Lets see..on TOS it would have to be Scotty, TNG..Data, DS9..Dax (both of them) Voyager Neelix.
Do you have a favorite episode?
TOS, it's a draw between "Trouble with Tribbles" and "Piece of the Action"
    TNG, "The Inner Light"
    DS9 "Badda Bing Badda Bang"
    Voyager "Scorpion" parts 1 &2
Enterprise "In a Mirror, Darkly" parts 1&2
Is there an episode that shaped or otherwise changed your life, or your perspective on reality?
    TNG's "The Inner Light"
TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise -- What is your favorite iteration of the Star Trek franchise?
I really like the idea of the Enterprise series, the whole striking out into the unknown.
