Should the hippies have formed a religion?

Not from a legal point of view (501(3)c IRS qualification).

PACs aren't tax exempt because, my definition, they're doing political work.

It looks like you really want to go for organizing something and finding a way to evade taxes. Go for it. Good luck.

Fire that they use to burn down companies polluting the air and water, and creating a have/have not society.

It is idiots with that type of attitude that is the problem in this world... along with the people they prop up.

Political work shouldn't be tax exempt, yet they are for some reason.

Churches can get land and donations and survive year after year because they don't need to pay 10%-39% of it to the government first.

It's not evading taxes if they shouldn't have had to pay them in the first place.

I want something to last more than 5 years. To be an alternative and legitimate sustainable lifestyle with a higher quality of life than all those people working part-time at Wal-Mart or McDonald's scraping to get by.

Once you declare it a religion, everything gets fucked up. That's my hippie belief cuz, I was one (amd still am) and will be forever. The best I can share is that us hippies do believe in "Do unto others as you would do unto yourself - aka The Golden Rule" The best thing I know about the Golden Rule is that is exists in most religions as a basic belief.
