I'm not seeing the quote, hopefully it will show when I hit post reply.

I think that you're making a wise decision. Something is telling you not to move in, and you're listening.

So, 01/02 has come and gone, and Im cleaning the place up. While doing so, Ive considered the move, and Im flipping back/forth like a jumping bean.

Ive already spent head time composing rebellious letters to the editor of the local newspaper re land use and so forth. While planning development and beautification, the city plan appears to have skirted that hood altogether other than amping up some neighborhood police efforts. Pisses me off.

Meanwhile, after having given notice to my landlord that I would move as of 03/01, he is asking me to stay, so that option remans available. The bigdog, 4 blocks away, is no longer a factor in my decision. What is influencing me though is that I would own something, and a little bit of moxie. Its solvent financially/better than sitting on my ass.

Arrived home from the spa fresh, clean, babyassed, and apparently rejuved Thurs night. Fri morning I pulled up crusty pukegreen shag carpeting wild haired and filthy from headtotoe to discover a fairly decent plywood floor. Saturday I pulled staples, reamed up all those tack strips, and ran around town looking at flooring. Sunday I bought the flooring (Pergo), hauled/unloaded, and now it sits in there acclimating to the temp. Tomorrow we start to install it, piece by friggin piece. My very own private hell.

I just looked for houses in the ghetto-ish areas of Rochester. Damn, homes for <$30k and rent for $625/mo. some are even section 8.

    It's nuts!

I'm glad you are making progress on your space.
