I don't see the main stream media ignoring anything. It's an old story that has been investigated to death.

To be fair, the Benghazi attack represents a greater security failure than any of the attacks on US diplomatic facilities under GWB because a US ambassador died in Benghazi, whereas almost all the deaths in the GWB era attacks were security guards, civilians, and the attackers themselves (which the above counts include). Few were Americans or US government employees/contractors.

The budget argument is weak because the House hearings on Benghazi as well as the original ARB report indicated that budgetary constraints weren't a factor in the compound's inadequate security.

I do agree with you that the Benghazi attack and the families of its victims certainly haven't been ignored by the mainstream media, despite what Solitary Man's last posting suggests. Patricia Smith's speech at the RNC was covered by all the major news networks.

It has long baffled me that Fox News doesn't seem to consider itself as part of the mainstream media yet frequently brags that it's the most-watched cable network in America.

    Eight.
Six lead by House committees and two by Senate committees, comprising 33 public and private congressional hearings, and having published 13 reports on their findings. Another ~50 hearings were conducted by the DoD, amounting to thousands of hours and millions of dollars spent on redundant scrutiny.

    Seriously fuck that meme.
First of all, are we talking about soldiers being criticized and if so, in general I haven't seen a lot of that on a personal basis.
Most of the criticism I've ever seen is of the military complex as a whole and it is totally justified.
In fact a good portion of those critics come from soldiers.
Hell, my grandfather was in the Navy during WW II and had more than a few choice words to say about the system.

For that matter how about the pacifists who choose to serve but not by killing anyone?
It is possible to be a medic or be in the back lines, which is every bit as important.

And since the picture isn't of a military weapon we are probably talking about every right wing nut who thinks that they can fight the government when it becomes to oppressive when what you are supposed to do is be involved in the system well before that happens.
    So yeah, fuck that meme.

    +1 for what @redravin posted.

That meme is open to many interpretations. I'll view it as concerning the military.

All (keep in mind I try to avoid using absolutes) official government military organizations are, certainly to varying degrees, choked with bureaucracy, inefficiency, incompetent people in positions of power, etc, and therefore deserving of criticism.

I feel for the low level soldiers, the grunts who have to follow orders no matter how idiotic the orders might be. But there are times when individual soldiers make poor decisions. I'm not talking about split-second life-or-death decisions, situations with no clear correct right-and-wrong solution, etc. I mean decisions that can not be justified in any way under any circumstances. Decisions that need to be scrutinized and criticized.

    If Trump gets elected
    it will only prove that
    there were more idiots
    voting than regular people
    voting in the U.S.A.

It's been proven that Trump lies at a far higher rate than Hillary Clinton (like, not even a quarter of what he says is remotely true), so what does that say for people who would vote for Trump over Clinton?

Thanks, I was kind of holding off because it pissed me off to a point that I was going to rage type and it would have just been ugly.
The president waited to come down at the request of the governor because of the amount of resources that it takes to just support having the POTUS in your area.
It was more important to use those resources to fight the flooding rather than use them to support what would have been basically a fact finding mission and nothing more.
The president is going to be a lot more effective sending help, which he did in the form of National Guard and FEMA (you know groups not mentioned on the fucking meme.)
He did go when things were better and the support could be diverted, unlike Republican candidate.
As to BLM, a lot of locals saved lives too and who knows if they were members of BLM, you can't say.

It's not clear what supplies he donated. The truck he helped to unload apparently wasn't the one sent by the Trump campaign: Donald Trump did donate a truckload of supplies in La., and intends to write a $100,000 check, his campaign says - The Washington Post

Solitary Man's image is more objectionable, in my estimation, because its attempt to claim the moral high ground in the name of Trump is inconsistent with the candidate's and his campaign's conduct over the affair.

After the news broke of Mr. Trump's plans to visit Louisiana, the governor's chief spokesperson Richard Carbo issued the following statement:

Mr. Trump chose to donate, but not to the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund. The following week, Trump wrote a personal check for $100,000 to a homophobic Baptist church involved in the relief efforts and pastored by Tony Perkins, the president of the anti-LGBT Family Research Council. David Fahrenthold on Twitter: "Here's the check from @realdonaldtrump's folks. Haven't heard back yet abt whether it was received. https://t.co/cP6zmgdhyh"

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway indicated that the visit would not be a photo-op or PR stunt, having told ABC's David Muir on Good Morning America that the candidate's visit would be "a decidedly nonpolitical event, no press allowed": Trump Campaign Stays Mum on His Specific ‘Regret,' Says 'He May' Apologize - ABC News

Neither of those conditions were upheld. Mr. Trump was followed by cameras and journalists for the duration of his visit, promoted it on his official Twitter account, and, in an immediately preceding tweet, suggested that Hillary Clinton was sleeping during at the time of the visit.

The Republican nominee tweeted that Barack Obama was "too late" a few days later when the president arrived in Louisiana, despite that the governor had been in regular contact with the White House and advised that a presidential visit not occur for at least a week after the disaster, as redravin has pointed out.

Mr. Trump condemned Mrs. Clinton again on Twitter a few days ago for not having visited Louisiana and Mexico like he did: Donald J. Trump on Twitter: "Hillary Clinton didn't go to Louisiana, and now she didn't go to Mexico. She doesn't have the drive or stamina to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Mrs. Clinton had commented on the flooding in Louisiana before Mr. Trump did, having tweeted a link to a Red Cross flood relief donation page on August 16: Hillary Clinton on Twitter: "Closely monitoring the flooding in Louisiana & Mississippi. The @RedCross is helping displaced families in need: https://t.co/sSYTbQMndP -H"

She also shared donation links from the Red Cross and the BRAF Louisiana Flood Relief Fund on Facebook and in an email to her supporters urging all to contribute, something I don't think Mr. Trump has done.
