So what has Obama said about Hillary's qualifications? He actually commented on this in the speech you see him giving in the above image, which wasn't in 2008 but last month, in 2016. He said "That's why I can say with confidence that there has never been a man or a woman–not me, not Bill, nobody–more qualified to serve as President of the United States of America."

This is great news! Since having had a black girlfriend clearly means you're not racist, I'm gonna tell my last ex that because she's female, I'm not actually sexist. After all, my mother was a woman, so how could I really be a misogynist? It's not like I've ever said "I would never buy Ivana any decent jewels or pictures. Why give her negotiable assets?"

While I'm at it, our history books should be changed to reflect that the Confederacy wasn't racist towards blacks, because it enlisted a handful of them to fight for the lost cause. Because it actually says, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." which means something completely different?

 

The answer to this riddle is that gun control, regulations, restrictions are placed on the sale and carry of firearms and not on the right to keep and bear them.

Redravin and Baraka_Guru are correct that the remaining half of the second amendment's language declares that the necessity of a well regulated militia is the reason why the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.

I commend the creator of this graphic for choosing a fictive criminal psychopath to provide a voice for gun rights. If the Riddler's heroic adversary, the Batman, were used to present this argument, the message would be much less convincing, as, like most superheros, Batman is almost always shown to avoid using firearms.

This quotation checks out as having been delivered in JFK's address on the Cuban Missle Crisis, but I can refute it because I genuinely think the president was wrong about this.

The cost of freedom isn't always high. Wars can be averted with diplomacy.

US forces choose to surrender in order to save lives when there's no chance of victory. That's a responsible and humane thing to do. The United States has surrendered at the battles of Queenston Heights, Harpers Ferry, Bataan, Corregidor, and in the Bay of Pigs invasion (which occurred under JFK one year before he gave this speech).

Do you know which celebrated historical figure did once write this? Henry David Thoreau: a pacifist, environmentalist, anarchist progressive. The ethos his name provides probably wouldn't go over as well with the wingnuts who repost these images across social media.

And when there actually is equality we can quibble that fucking point but right now the course is still rigged pretty thoroughly to give certain people a garunteed result.

 

This is another case of a simplistic view that regrettably arrives at an intellectually lazy conclusion because it doesn't examine the subject very deeply.

"Giving everyone an equal chance" is a concept commonly represented by the example of equal opportunity employment. Putting aside the fact that American employers still discriminate by race and other illegal factors (employers on average are significantly more likely to reject a resume with a black-sounding name than the same resume with a white-sounding name), equal opportunity employment isn't enough to be fair or equitable to everyone, because some people are legitimately unable to work. That's why the federal government administers unemployment welfare and disability benefits. For human rights such as having an adequate standard of living, an equal result is the only thing that matters.



Equality is only fair under the assumption that everyone starts from the same place. This assumption is obviously invalid. People who happen to have been born into wealthy families don't need as much outside support as people who happen to have been raised by a single parent in an impoverished community with languishing schools because stupidly, American public schools are funded by local property taxes, which increases the income gap because the best schools are only available to the wealthiest communities.

So, fair isn't merely equal. Fairness, or equity, depends on an equal result.

Seriously, give me real facts and not something out of the rightwing wind tunnel.
Some actually stated fact that has been proven and vetted, something that has been passed through the (how many has there been now? three, four) investigation by Congress.

If you have that then I will happily put up with this stupid bullshit, otherwise, no more on Benghazi, unless it is to point out that the Republicans cut funding to the security of the embassies for many years in a row and are every bit as responsible.
