Yeah. My best friend is a rabbi in San Diego. We've known each other since our freshman year of college, when we were virtually the only Jews either of us knew at school (not a lot of Jews at UC Santa Cruz at the turn of the '90s), and been close friends since our sophomore year. We've always been there for each other, and really supported one another and helped shape one another. He's 100% like the brother I never had.

If there were another candidate, it would be a woman I know in Florida who is an academic expert in Jainism, though she herself has been a Muslim for about two or three years now. She and I worked together at the turn of the millennium, bonded with each other over common interests and outlooks on countless things, and have been fast friends ever since. We've always been each other's sounding board, and we ground one another in certain ways no one else does, even our respective spouses.

I have other close friends, but those two are special.
