QOTD #41: what makes you happy?

How could I have forgotten all you can eat sushi. It's an hour of pure delight. Enjoy!

 

That is a great day and I have always preferred older women. They are confident, know what they want, and easy to get along with.

 

I've been chasing this question personally for a while now.
I miss spending alone time with my wife. Playing games, trips, etc.
But, since the birth of our first child, things have been way too busy so we haven't really had any quality time.
For example, today is my birthday, and I'm watching the kids today while she has to finish a project at work because her boss is a bitch.
I'm optimistic though. Our lives are constantly busy and changing but we know it won't be like this forever.
I also miss going to Tokyo. Used to go annually, but, stopped 3 years ago cause things started picking up at home.
Going to take a bit of time....but I know it will even out.

 

Or a 17.6 lb Bengal who thinks he's still a kitten, stretched out with his head on your boob and his tail flicking your knee cap... Lazy bum... While you start an epic binge of "The X-Files." hangover excluded from the happiness thing.

 

Still trying to figure out what makes me happy.

Learning new things sometimes satisfies me for a period of time. That's as close as I get lately.

The endorphin/adrenaline rush during and after heavy lifting is good.

My daughter got a partial scholarship to a private school, that was great.

 

Breaking bread with my family and friends.
Food, booze and good conversation with good people just seems to make me feel all right.
Live music from a band that cares about what it is playing, even if it's not exactly to my tastes, I can appreciate people who love to play.
The same for a movie or TV show that is made by people who love their craft and work hard to make something remarkable.

Rain sounds
Thunderstorms
Snow
Skiing
Birdwatching, and especially identifying a new bird for the first time
Cycling, especially on quiet country roads; bonus if they're dirt
Campfires
Ice cream with rainbow sprinkles
Afternoon naps in the sun
Getting a splinter out without too much pain
Spending time around "my people"
Not having children
Being really satisfied with and proud of something I've done or made (a musical performance, a meal I've cooked, a photo I've taken, something I've written or drawn)
Well earned praise on a job well done
Listening to—and playing—music laden with memories
related: Nostalgia that doesn't hurt too much
Passionate kisses
Long-anticipated reunions
My cat
