MLB games, no (it was matter of little spare $$). Little league games, yes. My dad liked baseball, mom didn't.

Related note--I was forced to play LLBB by my dad. The only thing that exceed my suckage at baseball was my hatred of playing it. To this day I avoid playing BB, even friendly softball games. A few times I was recruited to play on company teams, only because they needed a warm body to meet minimum number of players required. I warned them, "If something happens and you have to let (make) me play, you'll regret it. I really do suck."

  2. My eldest sister took me to countless Tigers games through the early/middle 1960s. Best part of my childhood. Summer nights in the bleacher and the bus rides to and from... loved every minute.

I look back with regret that I was not in a position, with finances or free time, to provide the same experience for my children. We went to games, but totally too infrequently. I get to a couple games a year, anymore. It remains my favorite in-person spectator sport.

My dream retirement would be a season long trip around the league with at least a series at each stadium. I'd start in March in Lakeland, FL, spend April hitting the south and west, May and June through the middle of the country and the northern cities through July, August. September would be cherry picking pennant race series. October would provide a game or two of each playoff series, then of course, the World Series.

The chances of ever being able to afford such a summer long extravaganza are slim, but I can dream.

My best baseball memories are from the mid to late '60s and sitting in the bleachers at Orioles games, including the 4th game of the '66 World Series when the Os, with Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson and Boog Powell, swept the Dodgers in 4 games, beating Koufax and Drysdale along the way...and the '69 Series where sadly the highly favored O's lost to the Mets.

I went to a few baseball games when I was a kid. It was when the Blue Jays used to play at Exhibition Stadium, they now play at the SkyDome. I saw them play there once... I think it was the only time I've ever been to SkyDome.

Sports weren't/aren't really my thing. I like to play, but watching them isn't something I go out of my way to do... generally speaking.
