I downloaded an app for my phone to help me do more - I was doing reps of 20 odd at a time (7 or 8 reps, with a minute rest between), but then I did my achilles and have done little to no exercise of any kind. I'll get back into it once I am fit again (a few more weeks).

    I'm guessing I could throw up about 70 right now, I'm 6foot 2, 175.
This week at the gym, I'll do a set and see how close I get to my guess.

In Martial Arts class...as a warmup, they had us do it while our feet/toes were on a chair...for the full press.

Not bad, as long as they don't have them do it fast.

I think those are similar to an incline bench, seems like they give ya a little better stretch too.

I was once inspired by someone who said you should be able to do your age in pushups. The thing is, it gets harder and harder to do that. But it is a cool idea.

  6. Same concept as if a farmer picks up a newborn calf and does that every day, eventually he will be lifting a cow.

Only Chuck Norris could do that.

I've always tried the 100 pushups thing and more or less made no progress no matter what I tried. I get to a point where no matter what I can't do one more pushup, but if I rest inbetween sets for the right amount of time then I can more or less just keep going until I get bored or my arms eventually fail.

    Non-stop, no rest? About 65.

    In 2 minutes? About 79.

With no time limit and unlimited "arch your backs" Pretty certain I can do 100 or more. Probably 120.

But honestly? Who cares. My massive push-up ability isn't going to earn me a living. I just like being to stand with good posture.

"did over a thousand. You have your ubulus muscle which connects to the upper dorcinus."

I can more than hold my own, but I cannot claim record status by any means.

One of the things I have learned though is that doing pushups will only help you get better at pushups to a point. If you really want to improve you have to vary your routine and include multiple different lifts... Shoulder, chest and tricep.

I need to get a small squishy ball or a roll to rest my shins on. I can really only do modified push-ups, but since I busted up my knee last August, the tendons over that kneecap are still in the healing process, and it's hard to kneel or put pressure on the knee. I found out at work that using a small, slightly deflated playground ball will allow me to do push-ups, but obviously I don't have one of these at home. If anyone has any similar ideas, let me know.
