  3. I did attend Catholic schools, including 2 years of seminary. I've recovered, though... mostly.

Never went the seminary route, but did parochial grammar and high schools.

Took years of therapy to overcome it...

  5. I was raised Catholic... by an intellectual family (e.g. taught me to question things, outside of religion)...

Got kicked out of Catholic Highschool before the end of my Sophomore year; a prideful accomplishment considering how much families with money donated (paid) to keep their currently jail-bound kids in private school :)

No need for counseling on my part... I got it out of my system. Counseling was a separate issue many thanks to religious vs. intelligence upbringing :mad::(:rolleyes:

  6. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread a few years past.
There is a more recent development in that we are in day 880, this Sunday, February 8, 2015 A.D., of the 1,290 days, and 1,335 days of the prophecy of Daniel 12:11 & 12, respectively.
Somehow to read of Michael rising (Daniel 12) is inclusive to policing the internet.
So this thread can delve into this ever impending fulfillment of a c. 2,500 year old (young) prophecy.
The last week of the 1,335 day period will include what is researchable and is called the Three Days of Darkness. That's like the debris caused by the Twin Tower collapse on a more worldwide scale.
    Any further thoughts, questions?

  9. Christ said, "Blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it." He promises that he who loses his life for his sake shall find it. The thought that I am finding my soul simply as a fulfillment of that promise makes me wonder if it was ever any different besides. The constant that God is the cause of all things remains the same, whether one has been born, born again, and/or resurrected. He tells us in the parables that as soon as the good seed is sown, along comes the thief to steal it.

If Darwin could admit to his theory being debunked by irreducible complexity, the only impediment to the evolution of philosophy is that one thinks that such an evolution cannot be debunked.

The premise with regards to humanity and sexuality is no different. If you're going to accept critical thinking, then you must accept science's response to evolution, that in and of itself it is pointless banter.

"Out of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak". So any forum is more a meeting of hearts rather than minds, as much as one might wish it to be otherwise. If silence is kept, then one can learn in private. But even our thoughts come from the heart where God lives in the Heart of Jesus, the King and Center of All Hearts.

I'll admit that I had second thoughts about this site because it contained the word 'project', and there is the Biblical quote, "The projects of the rich man will kill him."

I still think that a group effort, like the formations of the religious throughout history, is possible. But to what end?

It is one thing to challenge, it is another to attack.

  10. Irreducible complexity? Creationists lost that battle long ago. Plus, quoting a source as a means of proving the truth of that same source is invalid argumentation.

You are free to believe, free to speak to your beliefs. But, if your goal is to win hearts and minds, you'll need more effective methods.

I think I just fell down the rabbit hole...

    "curiouser and curiouser."

“But I don’t want to go among mad people."
"Oh, you can’t help that, we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?"
"You must be, or you wouldn't have come here.”

So you cherry pick one sentence?

Fill in Jesus with Mohammad and God/He with Allah.

    Fill in Jesus with Buddha.

    it's all the same.

  16. Why do you ask?

Because you come off as a religious nutjob. Just my opinion.

  18. I appreciate your honesty.

One of the reasons I have in returning to TFP is to start a dedicated topic on what I have come to call "the count". It is accurate, and the more it increases, the more it becomes like Noah at the time of the impending flood.

It is easily ignored like the drunks around the ark that Noah was building for his family.

Yet not a single member of TFP would be here if it weren't for what Noah had done.

Another reason to return to TFP is to garner an internet "s.w.a.t." team to counter-act grand larceny and terrorism on the internet.

This is a reality, maybe not to you, but to me.

And if you are going to go the 'nutjob' route, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has tried the same thing and now owes me hundreds of millions of dollars.

    Plain and simple.

really you speak as if though the story of Noah is historical fact.

  20. It is historical fact. You're so busy trying to show off your filthy ass in your avatar, you forgot to pull your head out of your anus.
