    Already been done. It's not funny anymore. Plus he can fight back; maybe I ought to be doing it to someone who isn't going to change my avatar. Perhaps a member of our moderator team. Y'know, someone who lives in, say, Australia or Asia, so I can do it while they're sleeping.


    I've never paid for Office. I have a hard enough time paying for Windows, I can't justify buying a word processor. OpenOffice and/or LibreOffice seems just fine to me.

    You see, Windows is a non-issue, as I'm referring specifically to my Mac machine. My Windows machine only has OpenOffice.

    I've never actually paid for Office myself, but I will need to soon I think. I can justify buying a word processor given my trade. However, I don't really think Microsoft can justify two major releases since the one I'm using and a major file format change from .doc to .docx that necessitates a conversion program for those stuck in a previous (and now unsupported) version. I mean, just how much has word processing changed since 2004?

    OpenOffice won't work. I tried opening a complex .docx file and it made a mess of it. Also, I'm uncertain how its editing features will work with Word's track changes feature. I'm also uncomfortable dealing with Word files in another program. I can't trust it will convert properly.

    The issue is that I'm now one of the few people I know who still deals with .doc files. I think I'll need to go to .docx to ensure Microsoft stays in business. At least I didn't have to buy Office 2008. It seems I'm going to go from 2004 to 2011.

    Off to a seven hour day of mobility labs. I've been up since 3:30am. I see myself volunteering to demonstrate for all of the labs that involve lying down and not moving.

    Speaking of sleep, last night was the second time this week I've fallen asleep, still in regular clothes, at 8:00. No idea why I've been so tired.

    In other news, I'm going to have two nights to myself this weekend. We just got an xbox, so I'll probably spend them playing Jeopardy, and attempting to play Oblivion.

    I think I've just read one of the worst grammatically correct sentences ever written. There is a lesson here: Good spelling and grammar is not the be-all and end-all of good writing.

    Also, role model is a noun; please keep it that way.
