Just bought almost 2500 Magic the Gathering cards online for under $60. A friend of mine is selling me all his extra uncommons and rares for cheap. By next weekend, I'm going to be able to build some powerful decks.

 

Made $200 on a wedding gig in Baltimore this evening—plus a $50 tip—and the money is already spent, not even on anything fun.

Being an adult sucks sometimes.

 

I'm also on my fucked up vacation sleep schedule, which has rendered me totally useless before 10am. This won't serve me well with all the crap I need to take care of tomorrow by noon.

Watching the 1976 "King Kong" remake, although it's my least favorite Kong version. I had forgotten how beautiful Jessica Lange was in her first big screen appearance.

Think I'll do an hour of cardio this morning, that's about the same, isn't it?

 

Let's see, 1 hour of cardio = 20 minutes of sex. sounds about right. although nowhere near as much fun.

I'm 28 minutes into the hour of cardio. Sweating and panting. Feel better than when I started. Yeah, it's much the same. Yeah. Sure. Of course.

 

I spent under $500 and got my first skis today. Skis, boots, bindings, poles, helmet, and goggles, to be more precise. This means I'd better go skiing while I'm in Utah!

 

We put down a beautiful three-year-old pit today who was suffering from late-stage heartworm disease. She was coughing up blood and, due to saddle thrombus, could no longer use her back legs. What made it even worse is knowing that this sweet dog was suffering from an affliction that is both preventable and treatable.

Dear people of the TFP,
Give your dogs their monthly heartworm prevention...or I will come to your house and fucking yell at you.
And if your dog does get diagnosed with heartworm disease (it is not rare, people, we see it all the time) then fucking treat it. Or surrender them to an organization that will. It's no fucking way for an animal to die, particularly one that is part of your family.

I'm so mad I could spit, as the saying goes.

 

that's awful. I have to take my old man in this week and I suspect the verdict is going to be torturing him with injections or letting him go. He can't weigh more than a 5lbs, all skin and bone... Vomiting at least every other day, and obsessive about food and water. To the point that his life only revolves around eating, drinking, shitting outside the litter box and sleeping. He cries all the time. It's killing me. We all suspect hyperthyroidism... but he's 14.5 years old and already seems senile. He's starting to misjudge jumps, and can't seem to be comfortable on laps for more than 5 or 10m. I he's not my Old Man often ant more. For someone to let a young pet suffer, kills me.

 

I'm really sorry to hear that, noodle. I know it's hard, letting these animals go. I'm already starting to worry about Simba because he is seeming a little dotty - and physically he is changing very quickly. Another one of our clients lost their dog last week who was the same age as him - that was a little sobering. It's all part of the honor of having these fabulous creatures in our lives, though. You just have to follow through when it's time and keep loving them. Best wishes to you and your fella.
