    Well just got back from the ER at Children's. The little guy was hysterical and wouldn't straighten his arm or raise it, so we took him in. It's not broken or dislocated or nursemaid's elbow, but he has some fluid, so they think he just whacked it hard (we weren't in the room when it happened, and the older two aren't any help). He's better with some Motrin in him, but he's got a sling and a splint for at least a week.

    Oh, and we definitely do NOT have lice, as of this morning.

    What a day.

    I had a kid at the preschool who did the same thing once, and he was the kind of kid that bounced, so when he was like that, I knew it was serious. I was on break when it happened, but since I was his favorite teacher and the coolest of the bunch when it came to first aid, I got sent to double-check that my fellow teacher was okay dealing with it. We iced him and I held him until Mom came to get him. It really is better to be safe than sorry. He was fine, but boy, it sure scared me. Hope your boy is better and that you're doing okay too.

    Made a couple of blueberry pies today for Christmas and ... um, tasting purposes. Yeah, that's it.

    The one pie I cut didn't seem like it was as firm as it should've been. I might not have used enough cornstarch.
    Tasted good, at least.

    Well, I went back to bed and slept until 9 anyway.......when my brother called me three times back to back (I was asleep and the phone was on silent). I woke up just in time for the last one to stop vibrating, saw the three missed calls, and immediately popped awake worries something bad had happened. Before I could dial back I get a text "Please call me ASAP, but it's not an emergency." Wish he would've sent the text only and not the three prior back to back calls to get my heart beating a bit faster.

    Watching High School Musical for the first time. Using the Rifftrax commentary with Mike, Kevin, and Bill and it is still painful. At least the riffing is spot on for this drek; damn funny film when the ample targets are torn to shreds.
