    It's really weird in this new building. Everyone can see everyone. Everything in this building is glass, from ceiling to the floor.
    Today was the first day I saw the firey red and orange sunrise at my desk. Just beautiful!

    Shit. I woke up with a headache, sore throat, fever, aches, and chills.

    I guess it's time for my triennial flu. It totally sideswiped me.

    The timing really sucks though. At least I started taking precautionary measures regarding my immune system last week when I had a mild cold.

    But still. Fuuuuck.

    I don't get sick often, so when I do, I don't feel equipped to handle it. Mind you, I don't get one of those man-colds or man-flus. I'm usually still quite functional when I get these things. I'll probably do some work today and tomorrow despite how I feel. That's what extra strength Buckley's is for, right?

    It won't likely last past Saturday, which is good. I visit family the beginning of next week.

    Same here. Will end up not using 2 weeks of vacation this year. Could really use some downtime over the holidays. Not this year. I'm not complaining too much though, it wasn't all that long ago that I was out of a job. But yes, I 'm complaining a little.

    Trying to use vacation time, but have spent the entire morning in Webex meetings, responding to company email and fielding business related phone calls. It's all good, though. Doing it all from my comfy living room chair with a big mug of coffee.

    Gonna shut it down now, go have lunch with a sister and then a visit with a very pregnant niece. Family over business for the duration.

    Me too, but I'm not doing it. As soon as I do it the people in charge will change their mind for the 100th time delaying the process AGAIN...or they will forget that they even asked me to do it. I have learned to not do anything until they've checked in on me for the third time. That's when I know they really want/need it.

    Today's lesson was how to reset a Vizio Wi-Fi Blu-Ray player when it decides to just play audio with no video. Turns out you just unplug it and press the power button for 30 seconds. I did end up buying a monster HDMI cable to check that angle out so I might as well use it.
    Watching Total Recall on Blu-Ray now as a "reward", talking about the good one from 1990 not the recent remake that I have not seen and have little interest in at best aside from how the newer efffects look.

    My downtime was supposed to start earlier this week.

    Use it or lose it leave. Somehow that never works.

    On the plus side, I'm up to my eyeballs in gift baskets in our office kitchen from David&Harry, Oliverio Italian Style Peppers, unidentified giant tub of popcorn and lots and lots of chocolate.
