Long, rough day. Feel like I've been hit by a truck. Calling it a night soon.

 

The only time I've been to pinterest was when I viewed mixedmedia 's pages. I actually got the pic from Facebook, which someone else probably stole from pinterest.
Now, FB, that's a classy place.

 

I will have to talk to the sys-admin at work or find a new job. FTP (file transfer protocol) is blocked by the firewall and using the external WiFi is slower than than at home .

Many would argue running 64 bit Windows with less than 4 GB ram would be worse than running 32 bit.

The interesting thing is that my significantly more expensive summer 2009 dual core tower system shipped with 4 GB of ram, a good video card, and the 32 bit Win Vista build. Still running it and of course only 3 GB are recognised.
Just a few months later we got this budget $700 laptop that shipped with 3 GB of ram, onboard intel video, and win 7 64 bit build. The laptop sat for the better part of the past three years not used heavily until lately. My main hopes with them now are to upgrade the laptop to at least 6 GB ram and the desktop to 8 GB ram with a 64 bit version of windows 7.

Windows 8 is going nowhere my systems, and I would pass on a fully unlocked pirated copy every time. If I wanted an ugly ass wanna be Xbox looking interface to look at then I would just buy one of those. The new Windows look gives me a fresh appreciation for just how nice linux systems can look and how much power they give the enduser in CLI, etc.
