Mmmmm... cognac. S went on a cognac kick a few months ago. Yummmmm.
Here's pointless: I need to go brush my teeth, take my anti-egg releasing medication, and go to bed.
    Hooray, beer.

Edit: What the fuck is Canadian Mist?

What kind of cognac do I need to buy, kids?

noodle It's a cheap variety of Canadian whisky. E.'s grandpa drinks either Mist or Seagrams 7 and has for almost all of his retirement, except for his cancer treatment. Now that he's in hospice, he's back to enjoying that 7 and 7. So the Mist is a sentimental thing.

I'd like to know too. I enjoy brandy, so I daresay I'd like cognac.

Courvoisier. If it was good enough for Napoleon, it's good enough for you.

You're not going to be upstaged by a 5'6" Frenchman, are you?

Courvoisier it is then. Into my sippy cup, delicious overpriced adult beverage!

If you don't want to go overpriced, and don't mind just getting a brandy, just get a Napoleon brandy. It will still make you feel cool, and it will be a conversation starter.

We liked the Chatelier XO, Courvosier XO and the Remy Martin XO... but that's around $80/bottle. There's an excellent Remy for about $100, but I don't recognize the bottle. I preferred XO to the VSOP and we just talked to the guys in Total Wine and spent around $30 - 40/bottle to make sure we didn't get skunk shite.
Don't get the shite stuff... and if you do get the Courvosier, you have to speak of it like Leon Phelps, The Ladieth Man. It's required.

The price is definitely holding me back on the cognac front. I rarely pay over $30/bottle for liquor.

I'd go with Courvosier XO or Remy Martin XO.

You know how ridiculous this statement is? We've had dinner before. You know how I talk. Like I'm trying to seduce every waiter and parking attendant by being an asshole.

Yeah, but how big are we talking? Keep in mind that I'm the guy that buys the bottles that come with backpack straps.

Oh, I'm talking fifths. I usually spend between $20-30 on liquor I like--Buffalo Trace or Makers Mark, Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray, Hornitos, etc.
