    This post confused the hell out of me. Finally realised what it meant when someone on the radio this morning mentioned the "nice long weekend" and it struck me after some head scratching.
    I can agree with the long weekend part. I slept nine full hours yesterday morning and afternoon and finally felt mostly recovered after Thursday and Friday; at least the paycheck will reflect all of the hours at work.

    Toronto's mayor has just been ordered removed by an Ontario judge based on a conflict of interest.

    Thank god.

    He's likely to appeal, and will likely run again, but whatevs.

    Hopefully the electorate will wake the fuck up. The reason for his removal was just the tip of a shit-smeared iceberg.

    It was quite appalling, actually. Early on, he went on about a non-existent "war on cars," which is ridiculous because this city has a two-pronged problem: 1) traffic is too heavy, and 2) public transit is inadequate and overpriced.

    What did he do? Remove revenue streams that were attached to drivers and pull plugs on transit plans that would have helped the city (he put millions of provincial dollars at risk in doing so). He then put forth plans that were far more expensive, would be far more disruptive, and would take far longer to get running.

    It's a mess.
