    Serious answer. If you are over 40, it could be due to age. The tears are not even chemically the same as normal tears. I would get a Drs. confirmation but from there if that's the case there is OTC eyedrops for this exact scenario which has been an issue for me for a few years. Both my allergist and eye doc agree on the treatment, which works just fine unless I'm wearing contact lenses.
