Pointless Announcements

Today is over.
Beer.

 

A couple weeks ago I was given a deadline of tomorrow to complete a massive task. I was threatened with losing my job if I didn't meet this deadline. The deadline was arbitrary and had no bearing on reality. The threat was empty (it's what they call motivation in these parts).

Regardless, I take my job seriously. I slew that deadline a day early and surpassed the numbers I was asked to achieve.

I can't wait for this place to be in my rear view mirror.

Oh wait you are a nighty, only the good come out after 11pm so I'm told, but I'm never up that late so I don't know.

 

Oh, I'm up at all hours.

At 0530 to run the woman to work. At 2300 to ogle gun parts. The best part about being a playboy millionaire hobo is that you can take lots of naps.

Getting my thoughts together for a 10:00 am panel presentation to visiting high school kids. Probably more than they want to know about partnering with the private sector for the public interest.

After they had a White House briefing on Monday and Congress yesterday, they get stuck with the civics wonks today.

 

I'm still stuck on the whole retro games thing. "Retro" games are the only ones that appeal to me anymore. There's too much sensory overload in the newer ones (i.e., anything developed after 1997. Ha).

My family's first computer was a Tandy (we never owned any gaming systems). Anybody remember these?







There was another one, set in ancient times and based around historical treasure hunting and trivia, and I can't remember its name. That will probably drive me nuts for the rest of the day while I try to remember it.

 

I vaguely remember those games. so simple back then. find, type and solve.

 

Today's to-do list:
1. Go to the uniform store to order my uniforms and other supplies.
(I'm unreasonably excited about getting some nursing shoes and compression socks. 'Cause that's how I do seksy.)
2. Apply for a long laundry list of scholarships.
3. Edit my old to-do list and figure out how much money I'm going to need to finish up my to-do list.

Tomorrow:
1. Go to financial aid to discuss loans.
2. Nursing boot camp day one.

 

For fuck's sake, people, COVER YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU COUGH. I don't want your germs, and I most certainly don't want your spit. *Lysol, Lysol, Lysol*
