Pointless Announcements

Poor Stanley. I hope he feels better very soon. Keep a close eye on him!

 

Uggg. Infusion day. I do NOT like where I needed to get poked today, but at least it's not in my hand!

 

Mine is a mixed one. Mother is a German Shepherd, father a Central-Asian Shepherd (Ovcharka). He takes mostly after his father, who was a 75kg monster when I met him... and that was at his age of 1.5 human years. Central Asians have no size or weight limit and grow until age 3, so I'm hoping the numbnut is not going to end up heavier than me.

He also runs all day long as fast as he can, and there's plenty of space. From what I was able to gather on the very large breeds is that joint issues are practically inevitable in the later stages of adulthood, and their weights will really do a number on both bones and tendons. Not sure what can be done about it... seems to happen whenever it does. If you know of ways to minimize these issues, let me know.

Walked around the new sporting goods store, had dinner at O'Charley's (spinach salad with pecans, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberries, and apple vinaigrette dressing--yum!), and now Firefly sweet tea vodka with lemonade. I'd say this is a pretty awesome Friday night.

Borla Carprofin is good stuff. We keep a bottle of it for the alpha here because he does similar things that Stanley was doing on occasion. He has very slight dysplasia so after drills he can be very reluctant to do anything the next day or so. As long as Stanley doesn't get worse, it may just be an every now and then event. Hopefully it is just this time and he is back to his wild ass self in no time Big dogs are insanely fun but those joints can be hard to deal with. Good luck!
