Pointless Announcements

I was on antibiotics from July 27 to the beginning of September.
I'm not willing to go back on them now, so I'm going to use decongestants,
neti pot, and hot beverages alternating with icy cold beverages.

 

If your suit is uncomfortable, you are doing it wrong.

 

Absolutely nothing wrong with wearing a suit! I have a lady suit for job interviews and love it. But if you feel the need to wear a suit to a grad class, you're trying too hard. Especially when even the professor wears jeans on a good day.

 

Huh. 24 hours ago I was rushing to get an order of a rare industrial chemical to a customer within 96 hours, and now it'll be done within 48-72 hours.

Whaddya know. Guess the world works in mysterious ways when money is no object.

I don't know what a neti pot is, but a warm saltwater gargle works great to soothe the mucous membranes. You can google how much salt to water is best.

a Neti pot is a teapot-looking thing used to flush the sinuses with a mild saltwater rinse. It gets the gunk out.

 

I don't think it's trying to hard at all. Suits, for me, are just as relaxed as any other piece of clothing. I think people tend to dress to casually. A suit didn't used to be formal. Formal wear was formal. Suits were just everyday wear. At some point it became acceptable to dress down in almost all occasions (I blame the hippies).

 

I do agree with people becoming too casual at inappropriate moments (some extended family wore cutoff jeans to my uncle's wedding...). But I feel like class is one place where you don't need to dress up, because I learn better in casual clothes. It's the one place I don't feel bad for not looking nice, because I'm concentrating on other things.
