    Apparently, I have issues with my moral compass. Because I enjoy watching UFC.
    Says the married chick obsessed with Channing Tatum and male stripper movies.
    She doesn't see the irony at all.
    I,however, informed her that there's nothing wrong with my moral compass, it just points South, rather than North. She didn't get that, either, the good little catholic girl that she is.

    So I've had a severely upset system the past few days. Had to provide a "sample" to Urgent Care. Turns out I have C Diff (not fun, trust me). Was referred to my primary care doctor (who I am absolutely impressed with, spends more time and goes into more detail than any other doc I've ever dealt with). As of a month or so ago he stopped seeing patients in his office, he only does house calls. So he'll be here about 5:15 at my house for a home visit. Struck me as kind of odd but cool that he's reverting to old fashioned ways.

    Ugh! I am so sorry, Borla! I think the only thing equal than having C diff is working in a daycare with an outbreak. That week, I felt I was up to my eyebrows in liquid shit. We would send one kid home and then another would come down with it. Luckily, we had an inservice that made a four-day weekend and cleared it out.

    I swear I have a magnetism for weird, deadly stuff. 4 1/2 years ago I had what an Infectious Disease Specialist called "probably the most aggressive case of MRSA I've ever seen. If you'd waited another 12-24 hours you'd probably be dead." When my now primary care doc reviewed the notes from it a couple months ago he told me the doctor my wife works for (that sent me to the hospital the second he saw my MRSA) saved my life. Two-three years ago I had the Bird Flu that was going around. Now this. The good news is, when the zombie apocalypse comes I'll be immune to everything....

    WTF is wrong with people? I get a call from someone I've never heard of before. They explain they have a rental house "down there" and the Sat TV is out and they'd heard I might be able to fix it. I said "sure I'll go look at it." They e-mail me the address and the e-mail address of the renter. Neither turned out to be correct. They left a "1" out of the lady's e-mail and gave me the wrong street number for the house. I called them back and left a message stating I couldn't reach anyone and could not find the house. They basically said "forget it, we'll find someone "competent." Ok, fine by me. They call me back two days later and wanted to know if I had time to check it out... "umm no, remember you were going to find someone "competent."

    Fuck, I'm glad I'm retired if I had to put up with people like this all the time I'd be in jail.

    Been there, done C. diff.... Took them a month and 20lbs to dx and treat it.
    Got it from those machines at the grocery store that refills water jugs. Never touched one again.
    I've heard of more docs doing house calls... less overhead without an office.

    I wonder if I tell them ahead of time that I'm cool with dropping 20lbs if they'll just fix me up by tomorrow? :eek:

    Doc just left. Test results are being forwarded to Mayo. He said even though prelim results say C diff he's wondering if there is either something else in addition, or something else entirely involved. He said worst case it's C diff and another infection going on on top of it. Best case it's a violent, nasty flu bug.

    a couple more chores then there'll be a complete a working manuscript.
    the next step is to write a new introduction & use that to make tweaks in the main ms.
    i have until mid september.

    yikes.

    my brain is tired.
