Seriously, create your own city names rather than taking other countries' city names and either prefixing "New" or leaving it as it is. Fucking with my Google Maps usage.

A string of ten percenters meant that I totally busted my ass today for $6 an hour. Going back for the evening shift in about twenty minutes, but after that I have two days off. Sa-WEET.

 

I was really proud of myself for not texting the Psychologist yesterday. He texted me this morning around 11:30am and we've been exchanging messages ever since. It's nearly 2:30 on the West Coast so it's almost been 3 hours of texting. Yes. I might be a tad smitten.

 

Super Important FaceySpace Update: Just spent $250 to refit my entire house with CFL bulbs. Am I saving the planet by switching? Unlikely. Am I saving a significant amount of money on my electric bill? Unlikely. Did it feel good to spent 20 mins. to unscrew old bulbs / screw in new bulbs?

Good enough to spend $250 on it.​

 

I'm saving up to buy some LED light bulbs. Holy crap, those are expensive.

Yeah, I'm cool with paying $10 for a two-pack of bulbs, but 4x that? Sorry, I'm not enough of a hippie.

And, CFL lightbulbs are significantly cooler than regular ones. The temp in our office dropped around 5 degrees at night when we switched.
Ours were $7 for a four pack... do yours have gold plated filaments or something, Plan9 ?

 

Today sucked. Tomorrow will be better.

Having a good time out here in Colorado. Its quite beautiful out here. Wish I planned on a longer stay.

I got an arduino for father's day... Now I have a hobby?

 

So, I was browsing another site while the TFP was down, and came across a description for a proposed new game...

The premise was that sometime in 2012, scientists made a boo-boo with The Large Hadron Collider and caused multiple alternate realities to converge for an instant, and when the realities separated again, it left numerous changes to our Earth.

This part of the description gave me a chuckle: The year is now 2162 (or 151, or 32,173, or Six Monkey Slap-Slap, depending on your point of view)

 

You forgot how cool they look. Like maybe they were constructed from the intestines of a rare cool light glow worm or something.

Nope, just what you pay for flood bases, candelabras, and all the other miscellaneous bulbs you get with a house like mine.

Example: Vanity globe bulbs. The upstairs alone has over a dozen of them. Using a regular, naked coil CFL bulb? Tacky.
