Good general advice. Worked for me when I watched Wing Commander in the theatre. Or in the case of the first Star Wars prequel where I had no expectations whatsoever. That film fit the quote from the Black Adder final series finale in my signature perfectly:
" Well it started badly, and it taled off a little in the middle, and the less said about the end the better. But apart from that excellent. "

Just gave notice to my current employer. I had stated 2 weeks, they asked for the end of the month. I'll concede the extra 4 days. But come July 1, I'm freeeeeeeeeee.

Feels good to know there's a time limit to the rest of your employment, huh?

Ugh, just gotta get through the next 2 days and I will be set.

I just moved approximately three thousand pounds of household goods from a third floor apartment into a three story house using a 4-cylinder hatchback with fold-down seats and dozens of trips. The moving company wanted a $1000 for this short-ass move. That's a lot of money to me.

    ...I'm a bad motherfucker.

Please, I'm dumb as a rock. I am, however, banking on receiving a dozen of sloppy blowjobs after she gets home from work and sees that I carefully disassembled her entire giant walk-in closet (clothes still on hangers) and reassembled it in the new house with everything in the exact same place.

My SO and I drove all of her possessions from BC to southern Ontario.

    Over 4,200 km (2,600 mi).

In a circa 1983 Toyota Celica hatchback.

Yeah, we were only making one goddamn trip.

(Man, was that thing expertly packed!)

It's a lot of money. I'm glad I haven't had to use a car for moving in a while.

You are totally right but I did enjoy the film--all the 'filmy' aspects of it. I _do_ recommend seeing it and I totally would watch it again--like I do Alien when it pops up when the boys are flipping through channels. With Prometheus, I'll simply watch with the sound off.

Didn't Ridley Scott approve everything about this film? If so, shouldn't the "blame" be mostly his?

  18. It cost me $1300 to rent a U-Haul to take me from Ohio to Oregon. I will sell EVERYTHING if I move across country again and just use my tiny little Honda Civic.

    Whew.

So... I've finished my Crossfit (Household Goods Edition) WOD. Time to flop on my better-than-sex couch, drink some iced tea and watch Robocop.

    ...

That was it? I'm assuming you got a mid-size truck. $1300 sounds pretty reasonable for driving across the friggin' continent.

Oh, man, I miss that thing. It's the closest thing Toyota made resembling the DeLorean. Instead of the hatch doors, it had a hatchback. The colour was kind of a dark steely grey too, so the resemblance was there.

That thing had hundreds of thousands of klicks on it before we "retired" it.
