I wouldn't call it awesome, but I would call it handy. You know, it'll get you drunk when you can't afford anything else while living under a communist totalitarian government. (Or if you're Plan9 and don't want to spend too much of your cereal money on booze.)

Ironically, it's really easy to find Gordon's Dry Gin here in Afghanistan, but no Vodka ANYWHERE!

I am saving some to go with olives I will acquire a couple of weeks from now from a particular proprietor in Central Oregon. Lemon peel stuffed olives are perfect with Bombay Sapphire.

    Holy shiza, snowy

That's pretty awesome. I don't often put lemon peel in as a garnish, but I have enjoyed it in the past.

You are killing two birds with one stone! Yummy.

    Now I'm craving a martini.

Nah. British guys got a supply-chain-management-sized operation for illegal goods going on here. :D

Ohhh, nice. Which airline do you go with? My SO is taking the SYD-SIN-DXB-SIN-SYD route with Singapore Airlines soon.

  9. i go with Emirates if i need to be there quickly (if you call 14.5 hours ticking by "quick"). Its a direct flight and i was pressed for time. Ive taken Cathay Pacific before which is a fantastic airline also, and stops in Hong Kong. Ill take the singapore route one day and visit charlatan soon i hope!

is your mrs staying in SYD?

Yeah, my SO lives in Sydney.

Ahhh, you took the A380. I like the Emirates interior design for it the most, by far. Cathay Pacific is a great airline, but I rarely have anything to do in Hong Kong and honestly... I prefer Changi for the 2 to 5 hour transit times over HK, any day. :D

I'd usually prefer the A380, but I've recently switched from Skywards to KrisFlyer, because Emirates' customer service has been going downhill for years now. Singapore Air is pretty damn good.

Finally finished my "Around the World" card--50 beers, six years, and who knows how many cards later. What I find hilarious is that two of the people who "liked" the status about this on Facebook--including the person who commented--are parents from work.

Today: wine adventures topped off by a barbeque.

  18. Is this the new contingent? Can't imagine BF3 or MDTB degenerating quite that far. This is one of the reasons I've never worked with more than one group at a time. Finding a crew that meshes musically and emotionally is challenging.

SO informed me that I was apparently born in the Year of the Snake.

And she believes the following bit is a very accurate description of me...
