I've been logging my calories for a while and was losing weight. I recently gained weight, eating the same calories. The difference? Well, since the cafe at work has closed I haven't had my morning bacon or sausage and grits. Since they've closed, I've gained back 5 of the 10 pounds I lost. All while eating the same calories... Food for thought

 

I noticed you mentioning meds fairly often in your comments. Let me psychoanalyze you.

Hoping to God you won't be able to prescribe meds to your future nutcase patients.

I want to fire all my employees. You cannot imagine just how much I detest their indignant attitude.

Fairly amusing, Remixer. I wouldn't want to be a psychiatrist, meds don't work without therapy. Acetyl l-carnitine is not a medication, friend. It is a natural supplement that is used by the body's mitochondria to improve cell health and function. This particular supplement works with cells in the brain to improve memory and problem solving, if some of the research is to be believed. Having tried it myself, I can attest to my "zinging" experience and my SO's experience where he felt that his brain was too active. I also have a professor doing extensive research on the subject. The use of l-carnitine for cell repair and in children with mitochondrial disease is also well documented, especially in the kids i used to work with. I would never recommend any "meds" to anyone on the Internet without suggesting that they speak with a doctor. An amino acid or supplement, sure... if i had any experience with it.
