Some dirt bags broke into my house last night. I no longer have a decent camera, a shit ton of dive gear, a couple stereos, plates, pot and pans or silverware... and COFFEE marker etc, etc, etc... Some days the dragon just wins, can't change that.

On the up side both my dogs are safe and they did their job. Attacked the shit out of someone, when I got home they were licking their chops and several walls were splattered with blood. They may have gotten some of my stuff but my dogs, it would seem, took a pound of flesh out of them. Plus I'm fairly impressed with the police so far. Finger prints, photograph and diagram the scene. Who knew Progeso had a CSI unit?

I assume there no where to go but up from here. I mean the day has to get better.

Sorry to hear that Tully. I hope you can get your stuff back. Hope your dogs don't get sick from tainted blood, or something.

    Damn, that's awful.

Major kudos to your dogs, though. I bet rubbing that on the mental wound felt pretty good. Is your insurance going to cover any of this stuff?

Are you kidding? It's Mexico. Most houses come with blood spots from the previous owner.

Thanks, Sit happens. My daughters house near San Fransisco was completely emptied last New Years Eve while they were on a ski trip. Everything will be fine. Everything is replaceable, just stuff. Though I have grown quite fond of some of my dive gear, everything's been tweaks just the way I like it. Everything I own is very uncommon here. My gear is mostly sold for cold water use. My tanks were bright neon blue. So the gear will stand out and if anyone tries to sell it they'll stick out like a sore thumb. So there's a good chance I may see it again. If not, well then I guess I get to go shopping.

One thing I won't be doing is share this with my family up north. I've heard enough "See Mexico is dangerous you NEED to move home!" for this lifetime. And pointing out shit like my daughters house being cleaned out does little to change their tone.

No I'm fine, but thanks for the offer.

How's things working out for you with your treatment?

  14. Sorry Tully Mars

I was upset because someone went into my unlocked car and rifled through my shit. They didn't steal anything that I noticed. Just went through my shit. Not nearly as bad as what happened to you. My cats were NOT good guard cats.

Probably some dumb kids, or my neighbors doing a prank. We are in the midst of a prank war.

Rumor has it the best way to prevent burglaries is to change out the heads on your skull poles bimonthly.

Sorry your place was invaded, and I hope you get your peace of mind back soon, Tully Mars. That's gotta be a mindfuck.

Oh, and buy your doggies a couple of steaks. They earned them. :)

  19. I know. i have a bad habit of not locking it. This car doesn't have automatic locks and to prevent the driver from locking keys in the car you can only like the driver side if the door is closed. So I just forget to lock the driver's side. I think the intruder got freaked out by my emergency stash of tampons though.

You need to put the old lady ones and some Poise pads on the passenger seat. They'll take off.
