My eyes have started watering for some reason lately. Even after a good sleep.
Usually not prone to allergies, but I hope that's what it is.

  2. My son took QW to a matinee yesterday while I was at work. He and I usually take in the Marvel movies together. Guess I'll have to recruit a different movie buddy for this one:(

The Germans oversalted my rinsrouladen so badly that it actually burned my taste receptors out on the sides of my tongue. After five bites. We ended up at our favorite brewpub where I got the best grilled cheese I've had in years.
I woke up with my tongue stuck to my molars and the roof of my mouth and my taste buds are still off. I feel like I spent all afternoon drowning in the ocean.

Found a quote from a guy in a thread about some Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom behind-the-scenes movie pics, and thought his story was cool...
I can't look at any Indy pics without thinking of MeltedMetalGlob anymore. :D

  5. Borla I have sleep issues also. Have had them for years. Doc perscribed Ambien 10mg. Have found that usually just a half pill is enough to put me over the edge. Or on some nights, a couple Advil PM.

You may wish to completely eliminate all electronic distractions (ncluding the internet) for a few hours before bedtime. Can act as a mental stimulant.

Good luck on this, I know how miserable it can be.

  6. Was just settling in for a totally vegetative day when I was reminded we have a grad party to attend... oh, and bring bowls, the cooler and pick up some ice... and, it's at a Baptist church... soft drinks only.

Oh, well. They're nice, square, slightly boring folks. I'll hang, sip punch and watch the kids shoot hoops.

I went through a spell last autumn where the Advil PM were just the right thing. Never took a prescribed sleep aid, though. Only a few more hours until vaca, Borla. You'll be OK soon.

We have a similar heritage, but mine mingles further back somewhere in Quebec and traced back to Tipperary.

Thanks guys. It's more of an irritation than a major cause for stress. I just like to whine sometimes. :D I can function on little sleep for a couple of days, so I'll live. I do take Advil PM on occasion, I just like to limit it's use to every 3-4th day in an effort not to get too reliant. The doc gave me 10mg Ambien as well Craven Morehead. I've used it twice and it worked great both times, again I'm just afraid of being reliant on it. Your electronic distraction idea is probably spot on. I'm basically connected to a computer, phone, or Kindle non-stop, and I often watch TV before bed. I should probably do a better job of limiting that in the evening.

And grumpyolddude, I'm at about 100 hours left before departure, but who's counting? ;)

Time to clip the beast's nails. That is just about the only time he refuses to listen or behave. Holding a 120lb Bullastiff still when he doesn't want to be is a nice workout.

Got a buddy with a raging squiggly pitbull that is the same way. Key to success? Using something called "Frosty Paws."

The frozen peanut butter dog ice cream snack cup keeps him very occupied while the Dremel tool takes care of the nails.
