Pointless Announcements

The phone tech fixed my line today so that my internet is more trustworthy, supposedly.
On a seemingly unrelated note, my fridge's ice-maker has stopped working.
The wire is stuck in the mid-position and won't go down. It will go in the up position, which turns it off, but fat lot of good that will do me in the Summer here in Texas. Sheesh!

 

I enjoy Fish and Chips.

 

Met two guys from Italy tonight, so sexy with their accents. They do not know a lick of English. Interesting how you can still communicate.

 

Is it just me, or are some people's attempts to write in a novelist-esque way really annoying?

A few female friends of mine had their pseudo-intellectual phase back in the day, and I see a couple TFPers doing the same in their blog entries.

I bloody love the stupid face your dog keeps pulling off. Sitting here giggling like an idiot.

In other news, my black dog is hugely aggressive towards all other dogs. Whenever he sees a dog he doesn't know he goes crazy and wants to kill the poor bastard. It's starting to become a problem.

 

This would fit in the Battlestar Galactica thread but that did not get a fresh start here so putting it here instead. Not playing with spoiler tags as I suspect I am in the minority here not knowing what happens in the probably the whole series.​

S1:E6 was stellar and moving things right along at a good but not too fast pace. And that cliff hanger with Starbuck falling into some unknown planets' atmosphere of course demands that you watch the next episode. I like how they are showing the empty streets of Caprica, kept thinking that the pilot needed a portable gieger counter to carry with him. ​

 

A coworker told me I "looked different" tonight, but I couldn't get him to elaborate. Huh.

 

I know, right? We can't all post threads with uncropped motion-blur pictures of the European countryside.

No, seriously... how would you prefer people write? Now, I've already claimed the 7th grade level on here.

I wish I had half the talent some of these folks do. I'm just lucky I know how to use basic punctuation.

 

Hey, my amateur-level photography belies my raw, natural talent. If Tim Taylor was here, he'd give me a big, ol' Grunt of Approval in an instant.

Yeah, just like you I really do like the mature ways in which people write around here. Makes for a pleasant read. What I said wasn't a general statement of our beloved TFPers.

Though, whenever I read some specific people's writing (some of it in the blog section) on here, I can't help but roll my eyes as if I was digesting a 50g chunk of Wasabi. I mean, it's so bloody damn obvious that they're trying too hard to write well/in a "sophisticated" manner. You're a fellow dumb kid, I know you notice this stuff as well.

 

Been stargazing with my telescope, Saturn, Mars, Arcturus, Castor, Pollux...

 

I didn't have anything other than a high school education, so I try to pepper my posts with a few polysyllabic words to make myself feel as if I belong, but I know I come across as not quite so bright a lot of the time, Remixer, so if you see anything of mine you feel a great disapproval of, please be sure to point it out to me, ok?

My ninja skills weren't awake this morning when a glass fell from my cabinet and smashed on the floor. Instead of catching it I backed up and braced for impact.
