Question to you and other knowledgeable people...
Why do kids color like that? One color for the whole picture? I noticed some of my nieces and nephews did that.
I don't remember doing that. I was all about getting everything colored with different colors, trying for the most realistic looking color scheme while staying in the lines.
Was I just an anal retentive child?

And, on a related note, TE's a very nice place today.

 

Teenboohead is giving her speech about pit bulls in front of the entire 6th grade class this afternoon. She is adorably nervous.

 

So, I fixed the washing machine last night. My reward? I pulled a muscle in my forearm. Not even a peck on the cheek.

 

Well, she is purporting that pit bulls have been unfairly maligned because of the media. She is using information from the American Temperament Testing Association that gives pit bulls an 86.8% passing rate while other breeds that are deemed 'safe' such as beagles and border collies and american eskimos score significantly lower. I have found this to be true in regards to my own experiences w. different breeds at work, as well. Her point is that the number of aggressive pit bulls is relatively insignificant and that it is the media that turns every dog attack that happens to involve a pit bull into a virtual lynching of the pit bull's reputation. While dog attacks by other breeds are not reported on at all. The title of her speech is 'Don't Be a Breed Bully!' 'Cause she's clever like that.

 

$10 on pro-pitbull sway speech that showcases how the animals are merely a product of their environment.

maybe because when i think american eskimos i immediately think of dogs and not people.
i see your point though.
eskimo americans do have such a lengthy history of unchecked aggression.

 

I know you've never trying to be funny with me but I totally cackled at that.

 

She does close her speech by saying something along the lines of, 'and remember, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners.'
which isn't exactly true, but, you know, she's 13.

I know I enjoy it when the 40 year old man/he-woman with hands the size of shovels and kielbasa thumbs slaps my junk to give me the "All Clear."
