we had a dog come in today with taser barbs lodged in his face.
he was tased by a cop.
granted he was a large german shepherd who had gotten out of the house and was at large all over the neighborhood freaking people out.
    (a friendly one, though)
    but the face?
he tased him in the face.

    :(

I'm home, I'm done for the day, time for some wine, and maybe some chat--if people ever come in!

I sure hope this is allergies causing all of this congestion. No fever, but I'm drowning here.

They're doing yard maintenance at our building. It must be spring.

I hate stories like that, or worse, the ones where dogs are shot in circumstances where it seems avoidable.

Part of me says "an officer's life or health are much higher than that of an aggressive, dangerous dog", but I find it hard to believe the extent taken is the extent necessary in most cases.

Fortunately, aside from having a fenced in back yard that he's never shown a desire to break out of, Stanley is a mini-celeb due to our walks through the neighborhood since he was a pup. (Both my wife and I have been at the gas station, hardware store, gym, etc and gotten "Hey, you are Stanley's mom/dad, aren't you?!?") :p I believe if he ever got loose he'd just run to the home of one of the neighbors that makes the biggest fuss over him and try to get their attention to come play with him.

I hope you southerners get what this means.

Canadian winters are easily -15C (5 F) even in the most southern parts. This time of year is the bridge month between that and spring.

Where I am, the average historical temperature at this time is around 5 C (41 F), but for the past several days, we've had around 15 or 20 C (59 or 68 F). The forecast for the rest of the month is above 12 C.

The shep's 'sister' is a big, old goofy great dane. She had gotten out, too, but fortunately avoided getting tased.
The dog is fine so no harm, no foul, I guess. And hopefully the owners will have learned to prevent that from happening again.

I'm in chat right now with Hanxter. It's his birthday. People should come join us.

    He just left.

I went outside with a camera to take a picture of a possible tornado when I heard the tornado siren warning last night. I didn't see any, but we did receive the usual rain/lightning/thunder and hail (miniature pellets in my location, but others were hit with golf ball size).

  18. I was going to leave early today...1ish, but of course there's a meeting at 2 that I really need to go to or else people will fuck things up. I'm saying what needs to be said. Gonna make sure they stay on track. Leaving by 2:45.

None of that is going to happen is it? They're going to be unfocused, get off track and talk over me/not pay attention to me. They're my bosses, so I'm always hesitant to be bitchy. I have a weekend of fun ahead of me...I think that may make Bitchy ZS come out.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
