Kind of a sad Friday night, but I didn't feel like going out

I'm ready for bed, but too scared to sleep. Yes, I said scared.
The reason for my fright? Last night I went to bed early in the morning, 4 am or so. Within an hour, I had a nightmare. And when I woke from that nightmare, I opened my eyes and was breathing heavily at my bedroom door, my hand on my bedroom light switch, bed sheets all over the place, a laundry basket of folded clothes toppled over. And more than the dream, the fact that I woke up standing with my hand on the switch scared the hell outta me.
    I don't think I'll ever sleep again.

Get into bed, but leave the lights on. If need be, put a cloth over your head if you don't want light.
This is for no other reason than to slighly break the pattern - mix the room slightly so you know it cannot be the same.
Will this give you the better night that you want and need? I don't know.
Will it make you feel more comfortable going to sleep? er .. I don't know that either.
But at this moment, you need more than good wishes.

Also, remember to have a think through those lovely episodes of Bomb Girls we've been watching, and how there's an entire full-length series to look forward too.
Make sure to say tomorrow how tonight went. You could think about the kind of things you might want to write tomorrow ... maybe even start a thread for this.

But for now, Good night, and I wish you sweet dreams OK?
    Take care.

The cooing noises from the owl outside was pretty cute when I first heard it last night. But at this point I'm just plain done. Stupid creature.

Both are great cities to visit with endless options. A lot depends on what your budget is and what you like. Museums? Fancy or unique restaurants? Sports? Zoos? Theater? Music? Architecture?

The land that I deer hunt on has a couple of really big owls, I think they are Great Horned Owls. If you see them from a distance at dawn or dusk and listen to them call, they are really beautiful.

If you are sitting in a tree stand listening and watching intently and one silently (not knowing you are there) flies right by in front of you, it makes you want to pee your pants before you realize what it is. :p

Chicago all the way. Just wander downtown looking for the_jazz. It helps if you wear a SPAMMER t-shirt and carry a big bottle of Glenlivet 21.

  20. More than once I've been awakened by an owl at 4 am. I'm sure I know which tree in the back yard it is perched in but since it is dark, I've never seen it. 3 or 4 years ago, several Blue Jays were scolding the hell out of what I thought was a hawk perched in a tree on the side yard. As I got closer I could see it was on owl. A few moments later the Jays were triumphant and the owl flew towards a wooded area. Nature can be very entertaining.
