  4. It's loud and annoying....She's in her 60s and is making comments that older people make about kids these days.

Just spent 2 hours sorting through part of dead mom's 1000's of photographs. Finally got rid of non-family members photos with no identification written on the back. My mom isn't here to reference them anymore and it was pre-meeting Dad so he doesn't know (nor care tbh). I hate throwing lovely old photographs away but I hate too this task that I took on going on a year ago going unfinished. So much for sentimentality. :(

  6. It has been 8 years since my mom passed away....I still haven't done this. She took a LOT of pictures of RANDOM things. I can't bring myself to get rid of those because it makes me giggle to see a photo of a squirrel or of her pocket.

She didn't have a digital camera until my brother bought her one the year before she died, so most of the photos are print.

Oh my mom was uber random too, bless her. I still have many snaps, that because she took them will forever hold meaning for me. OTOH, snaps with her first husband and his family--that she stashed away from the world--except for one or two that are cute of her-- gone now like they all are.

I'm truly sorry you lost your mom so young, ZS.

Had a dose of the obvious today when my system complained that there was insufficient amount of memory to run a relatively light ad-aware removal on CS5.
This is after a fresh start earlier today. No doubt something to do with having Sound Forge open at the same time and playing with WAV files all morning. Might have to bump this up from 4 GB fairly soon.

  11. Thanks. The day to day is easier, but big events/holidays are still awful. My brother is expecting his first child in April. Hollywood (my brother's nickname) is the first of the siblings to have a child.

    Cancer is a BITCH.

  12. What a great day, angels crapped golden fairy dust all over me. (yep, angels actually crap fairy dust, fairies crap angel dust.)

I picked up the book my daughter is currently reading and it is The Hunger Games. I didn't know that it was kid lit.
I keep hearing that name recently.

  15. Same here. I had heard about it, but didn't know what it was until I was at a bookstore with my friend over the weekend.

While it is technically categorized as a YA novel, it deals with some dark themes. I really enjoyed the books.

Thank you Zen. I did not remember that about your dad. Sincere respects to you as well.

    Yes.
New life coming is beautiful but I realize, bittersweet with her absence.

  19. It'll be a girl and she will share the same middle name as my mother. I can't wait to pinch her cheeks!

No disrespect to a classic, but I prefer hearing Phillip Marlowe over Dick Tracy. Gerald Mohr was the best Marlowe out of all of the actors that portrayed him, including Bogart.
