Pointless Announcements

The wife accidentally bought me boxer briefs for Xmas. I usually wear briefs, mainly because it's more comfortable when I lift, but the extra room during the day is nice. I forgot how freedom felt

 

I wish I was at home.

 

Emergency maintenance at work where I had to replace a dead network switch. Luckily, I had a spare in inventory, so they had about an hour of downtime. Is an hour slow for or fast regarding downtime?

 

I need to get caught up on my paperwork. I have a love/hate relationship with procrastination.

 

I wish I were back in bed asleep. Woke up early with a cramp in my right calf. I HATE that when that happens. Damn, been stretching it out all morning. Still sore.

 

It's surprising that isn't a online version of Risk..now there is a game I could sink my teeth into

 

I think I had eleventy nine Coors Lights yesterday. Oh, and the baby was up at 5. Yay.

My boss did it again...

We went to movies last night and I turned off the sound on mobile. I forgot to turn it on until noon today; my boss had sent me three messages. First one 9PM yesterday evening asking me, if I could fill in someone this evening; second message posted again this morning, since he didn't get a reply; third one a bit later telling me, he finally got someone else to do it - a girl who did few shifts last summer and then got another job for the autumn.

I wasn't prepared to get any new shifts, since I'm supposed to work next week. What makes me mad about this is, that it was no sudden need for replacement, like someone getting sick. This person had requested and been granted that day off weeks ago, but the boss hadn't finished his job by informing it to any substitutes. He could have asked me weeks ago.

Even that one night would have been a nice add in my pay check, when I've had 3-5 days of work in one month during the past three months.

 

I feel like I've been beaten. With a baseball bat.

 

I "struggled" with installing my new 1.5 TB SATA HD until I realised that they make these newfangled drives way too easy now. "They" being Alienware for making the case so damn easy to open and to add Optical and Data drives (cases are supposed to be a huge pain in the ass and cut your hands) and the people that designed the SATA interface to be so much easier to work with than the IDE connection I am used to .
I also saw just now that I have 153 GB in my pictures folders, which is counting both the RAW and converted TIFF files for the same picture in several cases.

Now I get to start seriously exploring options on how to backup what will be 600+ GB of data all too soon. Joy oh joy.

 

Lazy day

 

The last Friday of the year. Think I'll take the day off.

 

I must be a bit tired or just feeling patient. There are faster ways to transfer almost 30 GB of music to a new hard drive than to use my "screaming fast" Wi-Fi g connection. It works perfectly but feels just a bit slow for this kind of thing.

 

Need cold beer.
