I have today off and Monday off. WAHOO!

Glorious.

 

Some people just don't get it.

 

Max weighed 4 lbs 6oz two months ago.
That little fucker weighed NINE ponds today.
He weighs more than Isaac. The vet is very pleased.
Guess the $50/3 weeks in Evo dry cat food is worth it.

 

I need to go to the liquor store. Gonna get a buzz on and eat some Xmas-eve-eve dinner with my women, since we're booked all up through the weekend at other places.

 

I had to go into Beast Mode to escape from the grocery store.

A platoon of airborne infantry couldn't take that place on.

The holidays turn people into 28 Days Later zombies.

 

I did Total Wine, Publix, and WalMart in ninety minutes flat, including drive time.
But freaking Fresh Market, Target, and back to Publix for stupid whole allspice berries took me almost two hours.
I hate how people's sense of entitlement grows by leaps and bounds at the holidays.
There were people fighting over parking spaces and turnips at FM. Fucking turnips.

This is why you need to carry Max with you.

 

He was actually in the car for the 12 minutes that I spent in Fresh Market picking up our turkey, some veg stock for the brine, and forgetting the whole allspice berries.
It took less time to get his booster shot than it did to figure out that SuperTarget does not have whole allspice berries and to check out with my gigundo box of kosher salt.

 

I'm not sure he could have entered Beast Mode, and thus wrestled me a turnip.

 

i don't understand the mentality that thinks that if they just stand there and bitch long enough at an hourly employee in a room full of other people waiting to be helped that some sort of christmas miracle will happen, the sky will open up and jesus christ himself will come along and satisfy their petty fucking needs.

argh, glad to be off until next tuesday. people.

 

I went over to my Mum's to do our Christmas celebration. It was happy and sad ... definititively bitter-sweet.
I cooked her chicken breast, wrapped in bacon with sausage and stuffing. Honey glazed parsnips and cheesy mash.
And on TV, we watched an investigative journalist's exploration of Jane Austen, her life and times, and varying critical temperatures through the years.
It was a special evening. On Christmas day, itself, I'll be here alone.

 

I just made my first blog entry, ever, anywhere, and it was here on TFP.

I got my Christmas present a little early...a new laptop! It is GLORIOUS.

 

Because you can be awesome without pants, sure, but you can't be an action hero.
