    Listen, I'm FAR from perfect.

Sure, I'm cocky and presumptuous...but I'm not arrogant.
I don't look down on others and I'm very aware of how much I do NOT know.

Yet, I am experienced and I've done things...perhaps even beyond some.
However , you should not let your own self worth prevent you from considering potentially valuable info or a better method, just because the source is confident, knows their skills and doesn't do false modesty.

Amazing how many people reject a good idea, just because they're suffering from "who the hell do they think they are???"
This is a serious cognitive bias.

There's people with only paperwork, titles, smooth voice, spin and a good suit...that can sell an idea because they soothe your ego and warm & fuzzies.
And then there are people with true skills and worth, but no pretension...who can't push a good idea because they've offended a person's ego and sensibilities.

This was a revelation, when I heard a long time inventor note,
It's not just having the idea. Anyone can have a good idea.

It's selling it. Getting buy in.
    then...
    Executing it.
    Leveraging it.
    Spreading it.

But you've got to make your listener not feel you're "above yourself" before they'll absorb it and consider it.
Even if you're 100% correct. Even if you're sincere. Even if your intentions are good.

You can lose, if they don't like the source.
So I guess you always have to play the game, if you want to move the ball forward.

Y'gotta spin it, to win it.

This is pointless however I need to vent my pain. My Son volunteering to go to a halfway house. After years of self abuse and financially abusing me and his brother, has just been seen on the streets of Tulsa again. What is it that draws him to such a low place that he chooses to be homeless. He is too smart. And I Love that young man he is my Son. Pointless because our family's can't help anymore. He wastes every good deed.

Littlegirly's response to a fly that wouldn't leave her alone while she was playing an educational computer game this morning.

    Nice, now.

There's too much to grieve for, lately.

    :(

Everything is terrible, so we should find peace and love when and where we can.

I'm going to go catch Pokémon.

I still have those days and my kids are in their thirties. :)

I walked outside this morning and it feels like summer finally in London. I'm so excited! Have to find my shorts...

I had a lot of opportunity to spend time with other people this weekend, and I chose not to. Still mulling that over.

With even more killings going on in Louisiana and other parts of the world, I just wanted to say, I love you, guys.
This place relaxes me, for the most part. Thanks.

We saw old friends. They just got married. And one just defended her PhD. Dr. And Mr. It's refreshing to spend time with good friends. We need more good, close friends who live near us.

There is a liquor store a few blocks from my house. Cool, local owner, so I try to patronize that store solely, as a supporter of small businesses. The owners are an Indian couple, she's probably in her late 40s and he's probably in his 50s. She is super friendly and outgoing, always chatting me up when I'm in there.

Today she commented that I seem like a pretty cool, calm guy. She says I strike her as the type of guy who doesn't get too stressed out or worked up about stuff. I took it as a nice compliment.

I did NOT comment to her that maybe the fact that her and I have a personal relationship is why I deal with stress so well. :D

My neighbor and his wife never use their swimming pool. They almost beg us to come over and use it, which we usually only do when they are not home. Lately when I've been working from home I've ducked over there for an hour at lunch here and there. I've kind of been feeling guilty about it, so today I gave him 4 tickets to the Sox-Cubs game next week at Wrigley. I told him I would barter them for a season's pool pass. :p

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

We have a small camp on a lake about 20 minutes from our home.
We use it a fair amount but I am thrilled when friends go and use it to enjoy the lake.

Ironically relevant......they have a travel trailer that is parked at a lake about 25-30 mins from here. They spend most weekend from late spring to early fall there. That's usually when we use their pool the most. :p

Sounds great and I would love to visit London just once. Besides Mexico for vacation I haven't traveled at all.
