    Yo, fuck da 'blative!

    No, nothing of the sort.

Let me clarify: If I ever have a son, I shall name him Titus.

And let me add: If I ever have a daughter, I shall name her Hecuba.

The book I'm reading smells like it sat in the library of a chain smoker since it was first published in 1959. However, the current edition's reprint year of 1982 is more likely.

Got my laptop in today from the repair center.
Lucky thing I did, because yesterday after the umpteenth lock-up, like a complete moron, I headbutted my cheapo tablet screen and shattered it. It's now unresponsive to touch.

Apparently there are some people in my family who believe racial slurs make for a great defense of Christmas.

I'm glad I'm a big fan of irony and just laughed it off.

I need to become a bigger fan of irony. I think it would have a welcome calming effect.

Question: Do you go back and forth between spelling like a Canadian and an American (defense/defence)?

Sometimes. Canadian spelling has a lot of in-betweenness that drives me to spell certain words interchangeably.

    Defence, defense; license, licence.

In publications, I try to keep to spelling as found in the Oxford Canadian Dictionary. (Which indicates -ize rather than -ise, etc.)

My university moved course evaluations online. Great move, right? Unfortunately they're also requiring everyone to complete the course evaluation before they release final grades, and professors and instructors cannot post a final grade on Blackboard, either. Boo. I want to know already!

    I see.
I go back and forth too as my paid writing is expected to be in American English. Mostly I stick to the Canadian, otherwise. I think I'm going to purchase a copy of the Oxford Canadian Dictionary just for my own edification. Ironically, it is probably cheaper to purchase it here (in the U.S.).
