Surrounding myself with people who see my children's potential and not just faults, makes life easier.

The human brain is just plain mean. I woke from a dream where everything was fine and there was a scoring glitch, only to have my migraine back, still feeling sick, and still feeling like shit in every respect.

I'm on umpteen different craft beer lists. Mostly I get excited when I get retweeted by the Portland weatherman I love.

  11. Does anyone else get wet when they see the adult version of Neville Longbottom and then immediately feel guilty/pedophile-like? He's an adult now and super attractive, but I still feel wrong.

Weather is fucking with my head. Allergy/sinus headache earlier today, felt like my head was going to explode.

I took some Benadryl, though, and now I don't feel much of anything. Hello, bed.

Actually, the secret to Good Will Hunting is that Robin Williams' character is the REAL genius...

Many think that Matt Damon's character is the genius...but he mostly just does memory recall, straight problem solving and used ideas.

But RW's psychologist is not only in truth smarter than his Fields Medal friend
He also figures out a very complex and subtle issue of a damaged genius...over the long term...with limitations and resistance.

This is TRUE genius...application. Not just memory.
    Nuance.
Things that are solved that aren't straight forward.
Figuring out a real Gordian Knot.

The funny thing is...most see the obvious genius...and don't recognize the understated genius.
He's camouflaged...under a beard, an accent, worn clothing and not doing "tricks"....a normal guy.

And the fact that he has to somehow communicate these abstract ideas and reasonings to even his "accomplished" friend who doesn't understand (or the kid who hasn't experienced it)
    This is the REAL talent.

And the genius of the writers, is that they are aware of it...and they note it in the last line of the movie,
"Son of a bitch... He stole my line."
Meaning that the kid still isn't doing it original...he uses someone else's stuff. (yeah, there's multiple meanings...but that's not my point)

    Anyway...I love this movie.
