I don't think this university understands the concept of a dead week. People keep calling this dead week. But - we have classes this week. Also, my professor just assigned a time-consuming "worksheet" that might as well be a term paper, due Wednesday. Finals are next week. I feel bad for the undergrads in my class.

  2. My peeps are trying to squeeze in a shit ton of donor visits by Jan. 1. What does that mean for me? Hurried impact reports and ROI analysis of funds. My proactive approach to things gets thrown out the window with this team since I never know their game plan. I don't think they ever know either.

That is how Dead Week is at my university. I've even had classes where the final was held during Dead Week, despite AR 16, which states: "No final, midterm, or comprehensive examinations shall be given during the week preceding final examination week. (Examinations on laboratory work, course material covered by "weekly" or "section" quizzes, television courses, ROTC activities, and physical education activities are allowed.)"

Wow, you're a better man than I am, noodle. ;)
I tried listening to books on tape by Paul Reiser, Jay Leno, and some Louis L'Amour Westerns narrated by Willie Nelson, and while it's okay listening to the comedians talk about their lives (if a little boring), listening to Willie do every voice, even the women, is a bit disconcerting.

    That's fucked up. :D
And, damn, Tully, I still think you need to write those memoirs. You have interesting encounters.

I have never had a Dead Week at any of the institutions I've attended. And that's in 10 years of formal higher education. Must be nice.

I only have Sirius radio in the car for when other people are with me. Otherwise, it's *always* a book. Definitely have my favorite readers, though.

Did you ever wonder what would happen if the Mystery Incorporate Inc. gang would ever just stop running and confront the ghost/werewolf/whatever other disguise the bad guy is using for that particular episode?

Max just licked my tears after I sent Vex stuff to MM. As gross as it sounds, it was sweet for a minute.
Then he got my eyelashes and it got really odd.

... how's about if you do it with a view to it being the backdrop for a Christmas SeanMyklKing Photoshoot? I don't comment on all your work, but IMO this could be an addition to what I reckon is a track record of classics.

    That reminded of this -

we use a very similar model at work if not the same one.

edit with an topic shift -
I want to post some GIMP tutorials but have a slight quandary. The latest stable build is 2.6.11, but the latest 2.8 preview is 2.7.4 and it is so much nicer and just as importantly stable for me so far. It has a single window mode, layer groups (not sure how well those work yet, and this is a beta I am using), and so many other small but welcome changes.
I might (should) just go with 2.6.11 for now and update whatever tuts I manage to make when 2.8 is officially released.

Watched my heart beating today. On one level way it's reassuring to see it thumping away, on another it is completely disconcerting and I worry that I'll lose my shit one of these times when I hear a sharp intake of breath from the echo tech or worse, hear her utter, 'Oh-oh,' under her breath. I'm one of those prepare for the worst, hope for the best people. <sigh> I feel better now. Just have to wait a week for them to tell me I'm fine.

  15. I was a little obsessed with the Mighty Ducks 2 (D2) Soundtrack, but more specifically Joshua Jackson.

There was a song about a Zamboni...

I need to bottle two batches of wine and am short 7 bottles. So, I'm drinking my old stock as fast as I can to empty the bottles. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

You know you have a compact point and shoot when you "misplace" it and finally realise you stashed it in the front pouch of the small camera case meant for batteries, SD cards, etc. and it actually fits there!

Muahaha...since I got my final done early, I was able to go pick up some more gifts for hubby. I picked him up a gift he's been wanting for a while. I feel suitably evil, especially now that he'll come home to presents wrapped and tucked under the tree after his final in partial differential equations.

  19. You're fine, trust me.

I call tomorrow to get one of those scheduled myself.

The test itself is a piece of cake--though the lube ends up in strange places...
Thanks bunches and best with yours, too @CravenMorehead!
