    I guess I mean to say that I don't find run-of-the-mill pasties all that exciting. But if they go with some elaborate costume or outfit, then I guess they can work. If you just bought a pack of pasties with tassels at the dollar store and matched them up with the 75% off clubwear you picked up at the mall, then there's a good chance it won't work for me. Just leave the pasties off and go with the clubwear.

    However, if you have a theme (genie, fairy, belly dancer, etc.), or if it's just a really cool outfit, having matching pasties can work.

    Funny I've been reading the exact opposite, that this was people taking back SciFi from violent bigots like the notorious RequiresHate (responsible for at least one attempted suicide). In fact the situation is so much not "dudebros invading" that EW was forced to formally apologize for buying into that hate campaign and retract their participation in a racist and misogynist dismissal of many women and writers of color:

    Amazing how once again an incredibly diverse movement in opposition to an almost comically monocultural clique of hateful and bigoted assholes somehow got painted as "angry white male conservatives that hate women". It's almost as if that's nothing more than an excuse used to keep people distracted from the facts. Especially interesting how this incredibly easily disproven libel was shotgunned by seven articles in a single day.​

    But surely it can't all be just a despicable pack of lies being used by a rich clique of bigots to preserve their power and spread their ideology via hijacking and co-opting social justice movements... I mean after all, just look at the sort of person being accused of being a white supremacist:​
